In this article the regulators are said to come to agreement over whom will regulate which deriative products. CDS will come under the SEC and be forced to give information to a clearing house. CDS' are not standardized products and consist of value larger than the GDP. Ritzholtz argues that they should at least be on exchanges. I still say they have to go. I see no reason for a product that can cover sovereign debt, i.e debt of another country. Soverign debt can be issued till the sun explodes and I see no reason the American taxpau=yers should be the ultimate guaranteer of it.
