Ok. Would you mind explaining the ways in which govt can infringe on individual rights? Right to what? Or, is this in regard to economic freedom?

I think many people forget that like you said our system is design in such a way that things are changed slowly. Which can be both a good and bad thing. Things get changed very quickly in a parlimentary democracy such as the UK, because it has a unitary executive. Unlike our country in which the executive and the legislative branches are sepreate and have equal powers, the UK the executive and the legislative branches are fused. In the UK the Prime Minister is a member of parilment, and can ram through the legislatio that he wants. This is not the case in our country.
