It's not an accomplishment that after 5 years, a strategy finally worked in Iraq. What does matter is the amount of lives and treasure that were lost in the process. Instead of fighting an unnecessary war and causing the world to turn its back on us we could have been hunting down the people who actually attacked us on 9/11. And again, I will say that Repubs are very quick to rally around the military yet they sent them to war without proper equipment, refused to treat them when they returned, and balked at a new GI Bill which would greatly benefit them. So, excuse me if I ignore your "I love the troops" rhetoric because the politicians you support say otherwise. As to your original point about Obama not getting what he wanted. I will reiterate my point; the bad will engendered by Bush and Co. that put us in this vulnerable position, but it is a victory for the President of the United States to be received with open arms and the support of not only the leaders but of the citizens of those countries. I know it smarts that this guy that so many of you have attempted minimize and marginalize has been given a hero's welcome but you'll have to get over that.<br>By all accounts Obama displayed amazing leadership and set a new tone and if you don't see the value to that then I suppose you are spending too much time listening to the GOP talking points and trying too hard to paint the trip as a failure.
