Shep isn't going anywhere. He's the only “fair and balanced” at this point. If they gave him the boot, everyone would know why and he would talk smack about FOX at whatever news organization that picked him up. And he would be picked up.

Everyone is a patriot to some degree - if for no other reason than wherever "here" is...

The fundamental difference between plastic patriotism of the Bushits and real patriotism is this in my mind -

Bushit - We're better than anyone else...

Patriot - These are our values and this is how we will face the challenges facing us to live up to them.

After WWII, we tried and executed hundreds of Axis soldiers and commanders for atrocities and torture. In Vietnam, we Courts Marshalled some of our own.

Time to do it again.

Patriotism and Rethuglanism became opposing diametrics over the past 8 years.

The sort of plastic patriotism advanced by the Bushits has indeed become tawdry and shopworn as the public realizes they've been had.

Who we are, as a collective nation - has nothing to do with the evil acts perpetrated by the Bushits skulking under our name.

I think we are just seeing the tip of the kickback on this.

Shep isn't going anywhere. When he got annoyed and screamed at Hannity or one of the FAUX toadies during Katrina– his freak out humanized the network for a couple of seconds. Not that FAUX wants to be recognized as a true human entity . . . .
