stunning probably because for the last 30 years everyone assumes that republicans are the party of the military and a anti war president is being received positively by the men and women he commands. the people stunned are the ones who will say that this cant be true because hes a democrat and democrats hate the military.

Not to mention the incidents in which people were reported to have been thrown out under duress, threatened, which were covered in the news media. And – a number of lawsuits if I recall correctly as well.
