More Democrat “civil rights” to chew on…

After 30 years of Democrat help, the Black American can thank liberal social programs for:
1. Welfare programs that keep many blacks from attaining middle class status.
2. A dumbing down of many younger blacks that encourages them to equate good grades with whiteness.
3. A welfare system that encourages a single parent households. In 1994 for example, 70% of all black children were born out of wedlock.
4. A culture, influenced by liberal ideology, that accepts if not endorses irresponsible fathers and violence towards women.
5. A society that pity’s blacks for continual failure, yet does not accept this from any other minority or immigrant group.
6. Convincing blacks that everything bad that happens to them is race related.

Democrats were pro-slavery, pro-lynching, pro-Klan, pro-segregation, and anti-civil rights. It was not until the Dems saw the black man as a voting block that they became interested. Since then, instead of winning over minorities with smart ideas and positive messages liberals have used scare tactics, lies, and destructive social programs. It is no coincidence that the black family has steadily declined since Democrats have become involved nor is it a coincidence that race relations have gotten seemingly worse than relations were in the 50s, 60s or 70s. Edward, who blocked Sen. Burris from replacing Obama's seat and refused him admittance into the Senate? There is a reason why MLK, the greatest peace advocate, was a republican. He saw what the Democrats were and are still doing to the black community. You want to talk civil rights in lieu of excessive taxation yet I spout the same diatribe? How does race = taxes? The black community is perhaps the most faithful yet look at Obama's policies toward abortion & embryonic stem cells. Are you kidding me?

Funny thing you should mention Civil rights and the Democrats…Kennedy wiretapped King, a republican. The Ku Klux Klan was formed by radical Democrats who opposed equality for blacks. 21 Democrats who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 including Gore Sr., President Bill Clinton’s political mentor, J. William Fulbright to name a few. When LBJ nominated Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court in 1967 he was opposed by 10 Democrats and only 1 Republican. The lone Republican had switched parties from Democrat to Republican only 3 years earlier in 1964. Robert Byrd (Democrat) is the only Senator to oppose both black Supreme Court nominees while Ronald Reagan, a Republican, made history on November 2, 1983 by signing into law Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as a National Holiday. In 2004, Illinois voters elected Barack Obama to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat. Surprisingly, he is the first black male to become a U.S. Senator as a Democrat. The first three black U.S. Senators were Republicans. They were Hiram Revels (R), Blanche K. Bruce (R), and Edward Brooke (R).
