Barack Obama So Hip He's Inspired New Slang: Politico (VIDEO)

Barack Obama is famous for keeping his cool under mounting national stress, and doing cool things like drinking beer and listening to Jay-Z. But according to Politico, the president has gained so much street cred that high school kids have built a slang based on his name.

It's so hip that school kids in Albany, N.Y., coined a term for it: “Baracking.” And it doesn't stop there. Those in the know at Albany High greet each other by saying: “What's up, my Obama?” and they respond to a sneeze with “Barack you.” Misbehavior is peer-corrected with the admonition, “Barack's in the White House,” which translates, “Show some respect.”

While other president had to try too hard to be cool, Politico writes that Obama “uses his hipster personality as a weapon. His enormous popularity is a bludgeon that demands political respect, if not support.”

It's one of those things Canadians sometimes take for granted… but when you have a child that needs emergency care…I think of all the people he came into contact with who, took such great care of him and can't help but marvel.

An ambulance ride
Emergency room care
IV and pain meds
2 and a half days in a private room
Accommodation for parents
Consultation with a physical therapist
Nurses who monitored him constantly
A pair of crutches

Grand total: 20 bucks….and that was for the optional premium tv and internet. Everything else was paid for by OHIP. In pediatrics, OHIP pays for private rooms. We didn't have to fill out any billing information and won't receive anything in the mail. The only reason we waited till the following morning for surgery was because he needed to fast for 12 hours. The only paperwork was consent forms. Everyone was brisk, professional, compassionate and knowledgeable…it can be done! It truly is extraordinary.

Americans have been sold a lie by the right wing re SOCIALIST medicine. Every parent(especially) should FIGHT to the death for universal health care!

I'm familiar with OHIP, because when I lived in Toronto, I got services
under my husband's plan.

It really opened my eyes, mind, and heart to the American healthcare
system. How all our hard earned money gets funneled into insurance
companies.

I know had I not lived outside of the United States, I wouldn't have
gained different perspectives on not only the healthcare system but what it
really means to be a black woman in this world. I was a different kind of
nurse when I returned to the states.

I could write a book on all that I learned living in Canada.

Anyhoo, Universal healthcare… America needs it.
