The arbitrator agreed with the Falcons' contentions that Vick knew he was engaging in illegal activity when he signed his new contract in 2004, and that he'd even used the bonus money to pay for the operation.
On August 24, Vick filed his plea documents with the federal court. He pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to operate an interstate dogfighting ring. In addition, he admitted to providing most of the financing for the operation itself, as well as participating directly in several dog fights in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina. He also admitted to sharing in the proceeds from these dog fights. He further admitted that he knew his colleagues killed several dogs who didn't perform well enough.

Mike Vick did not PLEAD to any illegal gambling charge – can you not read? You dont have to tell me about the case I already know what he pled too and what he didn't. He didnt plead to any gambling charge, no animal cruelty charge, no violent crime at ALL. He is not a violent offender per the US Justice Dept. You must have Billy Martin confused with Billy Smith down in the public defender's office. The NFL is a business and the game is about winning. Mr Rooney , Mr Obama's new ambassador designate to Ireland, and his family are not subject to to paragraph 15 of the standard players contract. They are not a discredit to the NFL. How their situation with the NFL will play out is anyones guess. The team is worth 900 million to 1.2 billion or so and no one has been able to come up with the money to buy out the brothers. But the NFL is making an attempt to push them out of ownership based on their gambling interests.
