Britian: Police identify 200 children as potential terrorists
Two hundred schoolchildren in Britain, some as young as 13, have been identified as potential terrorists by a police scheme that aims to spot youngsters who are “vulnerable” to Islamic radicalisation.
The number was revealed to The Independent by Sir Norman Bettison, the chief constable of West Yorkshire Police and Britain's most senior officer in charge of terror prevention.
He said the “Channel project” had intervened in the cases of at least 200 children who were thought to be at risk of extremism, since it began 18 months ago. The number has leapt from 10 children identified by June 2008.

Feds shut down another Georgia bank
Omni National becomes ninth bank to fail in past year
Omni National Bank in Atlanta, reeling from bad real estate bets, was shut down by federal regulators Friday, becoming the ninth Georgia bank to fail in the past year.
Omni, one of the state’s largest community banks with $956 million in assets, posted a $14.5 million loss last year. Moreover, the bank was saddled with $114 million in non-performing loans at the end of the fourth quarter.
Mounting failures
Nine Georgia banks have failed in the last seven months. The banks, their failure date and assets:
• Omni National Bank (Atlanta): March 27; $956 million
• FirstCityBank (Stockbridge); March 20; $297 million
• Freedom Bank of Georgia (Commerce); March 6; $173 million
• FirstBank Financial Services (McDonough); Feb. 6; $337 million

Nah…. too fucking late. The chief of police said (I'll try to find the story I read) that they showed Powell the dash-cam tape and he didn't think there was anything wrong with the way he handled the situation.
Christ – he was talking out his mouth about giving a ticket “just for attitude.” What attitude? Ryan Moats handled himself pretty damned coolly given the heightened anxiety about his MIL dying. And even then – her own FATHER wasn't able to get inside in time, if I remember correctly.
The outrage has been tremendous and this is just damage control.

I work thru ER in Radiology. When and IF shit like this were to happen you would fully expect the cop to let the family go inside and deal with it later. Especially if someone in Nursing or Security comes out and verifies what the person is saying.
Unless that specific hospital in Houston is different, hospital campuses are still private property. Like I wrote above – this jerkoff was all too willing to give Moats a ticket “just for attitude.” Nope – he's gone.

When Tate met Harris in late 2007, she fell for him, head over heels, said East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court Judge Pam Taylor Johnson, Tate's mentor and former boss.
“She came in my office one day: 'I met the most wonderful guy! I need you to perform our marriage — tomorrow,'” Johnson recalled Tate gleefully telling her.
“I told her she had to wait three days,” as required by Louisiana law, Johnson added.
Tate did wait a bit. The couple's marriage license is dated January 10, 2008, just two and a half weeks after the domestic violence report from Baker police. They married on February 8, their marriage license shows.”

How do you marry someone 2 weeks after filing a domestic violence report on them?!!!
This story shows real suspect, it seems to be not just a brief courtship, but an impetutous marriage and violence preceeding the marriage?
Just doesn't add up.
