Even when he responded to that nut from the Catholic League, “I like what you're saying about abortion, but I don't like the inconsistency.” Firstly, that nut has utter contempt for the President, refusing to call him President and accusing him of a prediliction for killing babies. So, exactly what did Roland like about that. Secondly, I can't be the only woman distrubed my a news host letting it be known his views on abortion?!

It might be too hard to adopt American children, especially for white people who might want to adopt a white American baby. Then you have to think about parents coming back after their kids after the adoptive parents have taken care of the child for years. I knew a couple who adopted some children from Russia, they said it was just easier to adopt from Russia than to deal with all the headache and hoops of the American adoption system. You'd think the American system would try to place as many kids as possible into loving American homes but the system seems bound and determined to keep these kids in the system until they can boot them out on their 18th birthday. I've even heard that it's easier for Canadian, British and German families to adopt AMERICAN children than it is for AMERICAN people to adopt American children.

A lot of people do try to adopt American children and find it to be too difficult. What's interesting about Madanna's adpotion of David is that she ran into a common problem people experience when trying to adopt here in America: One of the biological parents showed up and along with it the treat of a child being taken back. There have been a few cases in which couples adopted, loved and raised childen only to have the bio parents show up and demand the child be returned to them. Many of those adoptive parents lost the child. Losing Isiah, staring Halle Berry was based on these kinds of cases. This is especially common when a father who didn't know he had a child and didn't sign away his parental rights shows up. Personally, I wouldn't adopt a child unless I knew both parents were dead or had signed away their rights. I couldn't go throught that kind of heartache. As far as international adotion goes, there is lots of corruption and many countries have had their adoption industries shut down because they were basically black market baby rings.

It's sad that he has to do that tap dance that no one asks of Campbell Brown who is married to a bigwig in the GOP (Dan Senor) who was one of the big cheerleaders for the war in Iraq. Her credibility is not an issue but he feels he needs to say that he is an independent which is code for “I will criticize Obama even though he's black.” Isn't that the subtext of his statement?

Excellent question. Most people want to adopt infants…I don't know if it is more difficult to adopt an American infant. As someone who live in foster homes and had siblings who went through that system longer than I did, I can tell you from first hand experience that most people want to adopt infants. Why? ..because they don't want to deal with the “baggage” that children gain as they get older.

I would admire people like Madonna if they would adopt children who are no longer considered infants and is willing to open their hearts and homes to deal with older “adoptable” children who they may have to work issues with.

Why is it the people that have a problem with international adoptions haven't bothered to adopt themselves in their own country? Why be bitter that a child has a home?

Didn't see the show, but I can tell you this. Saying you voted for both the GOP & a democrate...means to me, a democrat, that he is indecisive...so I do not trust him. He would have been better off declaring himself to be an independent, especially as a black person. By him being in the media and saying he did both, sounds like he is pandering. and doesn't know who he wants as an audiience. If you have no party ideology or partisiansip just say you are independent.

If he is 'no bull' say I am 'just the facts' that would make him sound a lot more creditble.That should be his niche. Just the facts, let the chips fall where the may, 'no spin, no bull..just the facts' should be his schtick.

He will win with that.

I might be standing there, with my arms crossed, looking side-eyed at Madonna, but the truth is, I hope little David won't be lonely with another sibling from his home country. The world in which they will inhabit is odd enough, so maybe they can look out for one another with some guidance from Lourdes and Rocco.

And there does need to be adoption reform in this country.
