How can you say such things? Do you think before saying something? Do you know how many people will end up in a drug abuse treatment center? I don't think that this is such a good option.

No doubt there are few strong social and economical arguments in favor of marijuana legalization. Nevertheless the government doesn't show any loose signs here so I think we are still far from legalization. I am in favor of legal marijuana mainly because I know few kids that want to go in drug detox but don't because they are afraid of legal charges.

In the human spirit (of some) there is a constant craving for something, whether it be porn, the Internet, texting, "crackberry", smoking, drinking, injecting or inhaling all types of weird and creative substances.

How much can the government make illegal in the name of protecting "free" individuals from self-harm? We are reaching a nadir where everything has to be illegal, because groups of people cannot control themselves. This intrusive, controlling, and interfering nanny state is insane, expensive, and unrealistic.

Long, long, long time ago, heroin, opium, and everything under the sun was "legal." Then came Prohibition, and gangs (Al Capone, etc) grew out of it.

I doubt legalization, or keeping it illegal, will solve the societal and familial breakdowns, sickness, and other problems caused by these substances or "distractions." Addictive people do not have self-control. They are making life miserable for the rest of us.

There will never be enough laws, or medical solutions that will prevent the damage some inclinations or behavior cause.

Marijuana today is not harmless as it is often laced with far more addictive substances and a lot stronger than it was in the 70s and 80s. Which is why young kids become addicted so quickly today and cannot shake it. Typically,the kids are not smoking pure marijuana.
