I am not advocating moving to SDR's. Moving to SDR's is a horrible loss for us period. It is not only political stability that makes the people of the world want to hold their wealth in dollars. It is economic stability as well.
Both kinds of stability allowed the US to dictate terms of refinance and economic stabilization to the world during all the currency crisis' of the 90's. FED Chr Greenspan did it by promising to flood the world w/ dollars to stabilize the system. Despite the internal contradictions to this policy it succeeded because everyone thought we would pull back in time to prevent an inflationary cycle. We barely accomplished this.
This last collapse is succeeding in making SDR's viable because the damage we did to our economy is so great we are currently incapable of generating the demand necessary to move all the economies of the world forward. Further there is now an open question, “Does the US have the political will to move forward to solve the problem?” the turning point wil be if the perception comes that we do not.

at this point, we should realize that they're done dog-whistling. these are mega-horns – I say this for two reasons.
1 – the old whistles done gone with the wind from overuse. everybody knows the codes that motivates the masses.
2 – they're done dog-whistling because they have themselves become a bit slow in the head, lacking new codes. so how can we keep up the race distraction. I don't know…fly a confed flag and call it historical observation, mention states rights, call a negro “arrogant”, compliment with “articulate” – see they're all played, because black folks for the most part don't need to whine about these any more. we just get to work, still cruising on the benefit of folks who gave blood for us to do that. notice that all the whistles are from the 60's and the lone straggler from the 80's is to call anyone “hiphop” and that one may be effective but it's of limited use. Media tried and tried to put chris brown down as a hip hop artist based on all the ill that the rap game has brought to itself. (google “hip hop artist chris brown” and be amazed – dude ain't no more hip hop than the easter bunny – but it registers with older white people to call him that.)

so – stay tuned for the new codes. this one's gonna be a real tricky set. they gotta come up with em bec the race game is so necessary to keep divisions among us americans.

As for the National Debt, between 1981 and 1989 it grew from $1trillion to just under $3 trillion when Reagan left office. Under Clinton it went from $4 trillion to $5.6 trillion, and under Bush it went from $5.6 trillion to $9.6 trillion, so its not like the Republicans can take much pride in that.

The right seems very happy to criticize the job Obama has barely started, without thinking about how the mess was created.

That increase is more than 85% of what the US government had accumulated in total public debt in more than 202 years, and the Bush's debt was accumulated in just eight years.
