Tonight on Basic Black: youth violence in Boston. The last few weeks have been witness to the horrific and brutal murders of several young people and with the onset of summer, we will discuss prevention strategies to combat youth violence. Among the many questions we will explore:  - What is the role of city government? - How should the Boston Police Department approach policing Boston’s communities of color?- Are there any strategies that haven’t been tried or are there lessons to be learned from other communities facing the same issue?- How do you begin to heal the psyche of communities experiencing murder in their midst? The basic problem with rap/hip hop music is there is no personal or social integrity involved anymore. It's every cat, dog and duck for him and her self now. The reason to rap is not to express or follow the call of the muse BUT to hustle for the almighty dollar.
In the end Black expression has been hijacked and kept hostage by grimey, greedy, gilb word whores…word whores because they will say just about anything to attack money. I listen to Common every once and a while, even will pull out the best of LL Cool J just to stroll down memory lane BUT over all…rap/hip hop is cheap music…and I have no respect for it.

What is hip hop?
What was Impressionism, Free Jazz, Cubism, Punk (caps means - achieved their pick as ART movement, hip hop has NOT yet and may NOT ever.)

Those stupid cats ARE NOT hip hop, they are paws, hip hop is an idea, as with any art form - A Way to Express about human condition.

Dalek is the MOST interesting hip hop group out there and Rammellzee STILL the most interesting rapper out there, as GOOD as they are FEW people are aware.
those who still give these thugs space to stick their ass are to blame, they are attention seeker.
What you should ASK is this hip hop reflects afro-american psyche?

Hip Hop went to far since the 80's.So I don't see why people are wringing their hands over it now.Now granted their are some conscious artist out there but it is you the people who love this form of music to blame.You patronize clear channel who push the garbage,look at the videos on BET that show women in a degrading manner and look the other way of the image some rappers portrayed to America of young black men.So dont get so upset the lovers of hip hop made this bed now sleep in it.
