I truly believe that since the election of President Obama, the racists in this country are seething with anger right now, and those in positions of power (particularly the police) are taking their anger out on other Black people. Of course, the media will never comment on whether there's a connection between the election of Obama and recent incidences of police brutality toward African Americans.

I don't have any proof at this point to make such an comments, but I do sense that police who use this kind of excesive force and commit these kinds of abuses on POC, are remnants of the KKK.

They've signed on for police work and instead of hiding behind white hooded robes, they are now hiding behind badges and guns to legitimize their racist acts.

I totally agree. This guy has no business being on a police force at all. To beat a 15 year old girl like a she's a man is outrageous and he should not only be fired but charged criminally. And after he's given a fair trial & convicted, I hope he's sent to prison and he get what's coming to him.

My sons have spoken about this dissing of cultural heirtage. One of the things they noted was that dissing folks in a multicultural setting whereeverone can be subject to a disparging comment is way different from a vastly homogeneous populaition.

In order words if you on the playground with Jews, germans, indians, egyptians, negros and white folks...then ALL the kids have something to say NEGATIVE about each one of the groups so no ONE group feels singled out.

So, what happens is that EVERYone is made to feel less than or bad in some way which makes EVERYONE feel that they are NOT top dog but have to EARN it on INDIVIDUAL merit. Cultural and heirtage give you no free pass, IOW's there is no entitlement based on being of a specific race or culture..i.e. white.

But if you on the playground and you the ONLY jew, negro or indian..THEN it does feel like racism, prejudice or HATE.

It is all about the surroundings, and when the kids have a mulitcultural environment..even when they are prone to try and make fun of one group over another their chains get jerked and they realize, ain't nobody TOP dog on the basis of race of culture.

My sons gained this perspective by moving from the very mulitcultural East coast to the homogenous midwest of Minnesota. It was a significant cultural shock for them despite them STILL being in the minority..it was a DIFFERENT minority, as now they were a minority with a HOMOGENOUS majority.

And THAT is what Eastwood is speaking about when he talks about telling racist jokes, he was in the homogenous MAJORITY so he didn't feel singled out, otherwise he wouldn't think culurally biased or racist jokes..were fine.

What was even more upsetting was learning that she was picked up for driving her PARENTS vehicle which they had reported as stolen.

Policeman have been suspended and fired for leaving their police dogs in a car on a hot day, with many calling for the policeman to be jailed....but see...that's a canine.....this was a black girl...she's lower on the totem pole.
