Glad to see her front and center again. I missed her. She continues to show how bright she is and is a tremendous asset to The President and this nation.

AFTERNOON THREAD IS UP

She's entering the policy discussions….Let the hateration begin. She is about to be slammed big time cause howcomme Mom In Chief is visiting HUD, DOE etc? they'll say. On the other hand, we could say America is her house now and Mom's always checking in to make sure the “kids” are doing ok.

I think the Friday business casual look was deliberate. She doesnt want to seem like she is an inspector in a suit come to see whats wrong with the business I am actually suprised that she wasnt eased into her policy role. I know these are dark times and call for drastic measures… but Michelle's honeymoon ( if she ever had one) gonna be over PDQ.

Tru, I do not think this is about policy…this is about making people feel important..it is to tell them they are appreciated. How many times in the history of our nation has a President's administration made the people who do the government's business feel valued? Most feel like they are nothing but slugs or moles in a dark tunnel and they put forth the least amount of effort it takes to do the job.

When folks feel valued and appreciated they do more, they respond and they become active citizens, not just job holders.

Michelle is laying the groundwork not for policy but for governance. You know how folks always talk about how the bureaucracy wheels turn so slow…Michelle is oiling the system and it is going to flow.

We are about to witness a team. A First Lady who does everything to make Americans who work for government understand they are not just a number but valued by the President for the work they do. Remember, Obama was a community organizer, he understands the power of the faceless and those who feel powerless. Obama is a master at teaching citizens how to make the government responsive.

This is not about policy…this is about being able to get things down. Just as Obama revolutionized political campaigning and brought us into the new millenium he is also going to revolutionize governance.

Recall, he said…this is not more/big government or less/small government it is about SMART government.

Watch him and Michelle work it!!

Hmmm interesting take wrb. I think there was a lot of “Thankyou” in her address but also alot “Support my husbands agenda and help him get the job done”. I am not sure how general she is going to keep her comments as time goes on. And thats when the media is going to jump on her some more. Cleary the President and First Lady are a power couple but more importantly a power team. That doesnt mean I dont worry.

I absolutely smile every time I see her. She is the anti-thesis to everything the corporate media, Madison Avenue, and Hollywood have tried to make us out out to be. I celebrate her!

First Lady Michelle Obama you shine, dear one, you shine. GOD, I love her. Thank you for all you do First Lady. You do us proud!

Actually, the haterade began long before Michelle stepped into the White House.
and as far as the honeymoon, the First Lady and PBO have'nt had one, and frankly, I don't think they expected one. They haven't finished unpacking.

Michelle's setting a precedent just by beng the first Black First Lady, she's not gonna let a little HATERADE stop her now.

It's gonna be a challenge, but I think she and the President will rise to it.
