Both overt and covert racism poison the pocketbook.

It's true that journalism in general needs to be more diverse. And the news networks should be more diverse.

But some people when discussing the diversification(?) of the MSM, seem to want to try to place the blame at the feet of the Obama administration. This isn't true, the administration is plenty diverse.

Also, Obama should not be blamed for the coverage that is done by white journalist. It seems to me Obama is just living his life as usual as a black/biracial, married to a black women with his black kids. He is not trying to be something he's not. In fact, it seems to me that POTUS/FLOTUS/FDOTUS are trying very hard to stay grounded in minority culture (pay attention to the fact that the places they have gone to in the community have all been places that may not be frequented by the whiter people of D.C.) from where they came. Hell on Valentine's Day, they went to a Soul Food restaurant, the White House will have a concert by Stevie Wonder.

As for the media in general, is another business industry that is able to discriminate so easily in hiring, intent, creation, and distribution of product? If the old media is decaying its messaging authority, losing readership, advertisers, money and power, I suppose that the direction of black journalism, news production, and flow of information will have to come from a new medium. Or these people will have to get their comrades together and buy into existing businesses.
