While I don't disagree in principle with what the Attorney General said, it was inappropriate because it was NOT consistent with the language of the President, and it is the responsibility of everyone in this administration to speak with a language consistent with the President's. The President, then candidate, gave the most defining speech on race in a generation. It wasn't necessary or appropriate for Attorney General Holder to attempt to follow that up with a rather boring and uninspring speech. Let the President lead that discussion. His focus should be ending racial disparity in the criminal justice system, not forced integration in the pews on Sundays.

Let's examine the heart of his argument: we are not truly socially integrated and that represents a degree of cowardice in all of us. We should ask and answer the question honestly, is there anything wrong with wanting to limit your social network with people who look like you and share an experience? Is this racist? Cowardice? We can use the Washington Metropolitan area as a microcosm. Despite Blacks and Whites having comparable incomes and educational levels, it's still one of the most segregated areas in the country. Prince George's County, less than a 10 minute drive from DC, is home to the largest Black middle class in the country, including most of my family. A significant percentage of Black folks there have incomes that can afford them residence in Montgomery, MD or Fairfax, VA which constantly trade the status of being the wealthiest county in the country (and both majority white). But they don't. They CHOOSE to live in P.G. County amongst “their own.” This is a common trend in majority Black, majority middle-class to upper middle-class communities throughout the country. I ask again, is this racist or cowardice?

Do you feel as a white person that you enjoy entitlement and privilege in America based solely on the color of your skin? If just by asking we are to presume racism, then you were asserting you are racist, by posing your question initially, no?

I am unable to see a connection with you being racist by opposing the stimulus package even if we look at Clyburn's remarks, becasue Clyburn is focused on elected representatives declining funds to their constituents who happen to be primarily black. How does that apply to you? Are you an elected official? Do you represent a state or city that has a large black constituency? If not, how does 'oppossing' the stimulus make you racist. You need to connect those dots, becasue I am not getting your point.

For you to assert the axiomatic truth, that black folks are not reaching out, sounds to me that you are blaming the victim. Are you? Are you focused on holding the victim accountabie much moreso than the perpetrator, because you perceive you belong to the GROUP which perpetuates racism? Are you trying as an individual, within that group, to wave your hand and say 'not me'? Are you personalizing a societal issue so as to not address it?

O my, my, my, that last paragraph is soooo stereotypical until I cannot format a civil response other than to say do you work with poor white trash also and feel that as a GROUP white folks are just terrible as a group of people, just liars, shysters, and no account sleaze ball, meth addicts who wouldn't do a days work to feed their family if their life depended on it? Or do you feel that white people as a GROUP are nothing but lying con men hustling a person out of their hard earned money when you read about how Madoff and the bankers in brook brothers suits and wing tips flew to DC and asked for a bailout after taking folks retirement and pension funds and gambling on their own greed?

The percieved MEDIA stereotype for a white guy like you according to TV, is Jethro Tull, Archie Bunker and Dukes of Hazard…did you watch those religiously?

Or were you enamored of JoethePlumber…did he speak for you?

I brought up the stimulus package because it is being
debated in some circles as a racial issue to oppose
it. “I did that” by reading comments by SC rep
Clyburn, and even in their entire context he is
claiming that I am a racist for opposing the stimulus.
Either way, I hear you working to label me in the
question.

Holder's comments are true, but the commentary ON THE
BLOG only reinforces the axiomatic truth, some black
folks are not interested in reaching out either. Is
that a racist interpretation?

How can we move forward? I deal with all the
stereotypical issues daily. Smoking weed, alcholism,
food stamps, DHR taking (or not taking) kids away,
nobody arriving to work on time, no money to pay the
rent but driving cars having $2k stereos and $2k
wheels, people stealing stuff to make meth, et.al. All
this stuff is going on with the white folks that work
for and with me. The guy with the stereo and wheels
quit because I wanted him to work 40 hrs rather than
32hrs. He had planned to go to the casino. I have the
stereotypes sorted out, so I would like to know the
perceived stereotype for a working class white guy
like me. Do you need to know more about me? twg

Honest talk about race has nothing to do with the stimuls package. The stimulus package is about policy, not race.

Have you somehow in your mine distorted the stimulus package into a race issue? If so, how did you do that.
