These above companies only advertise ON THE WEB. Not directly with The Post. They pay a company, like Google or Yahoo!, to place their advertising banners on internet websites and do not condone nor support The Post or the editorials.

If you're going to boycott anyone, boycott The Post. By writing/calling these companies, you're wasting their resources and employee's time for something they don't have control over.

I don't want prices/fares/tuition/etc. to go up because there was a flooding of needless emails/phone calls about something the company couldn't control.

Just a thought. :-)

By the way, I don't agree with the cartoon or The Posts' decision to publish it. I just find it unfair to condemn a company for trying to advertise online.

that would be a global mythology, having proved to be one of the most fungible concepts in all of history.

also, when did it die off - maybe not the exact date but roughly, when did we all say ok black not equal monkey or black equals human.

let's please mark this date and share it with a group of 2nd graders in Queens who don't seem to know it - I recently spoke to a little black girl who came home crying from her school - "the kids made fun of me for being black. i'm not black, i'm brown, look (holds out hand)". her mom then sat her down and hepped her to the political vs. crayola difference between black and brown, one that the other kids, thru obviously race-backward parents had learned as a matter of course.

i thought, wow, we've trained a whole new generation, none of them white kids, all just learning english, on the nonsense. this was an elementary school in woodside, queens, nyc full mostly of indian, chinese, filipino kids. the litle girl is one of only four black kids in the school.

I disagree with you. I don't think the cartoon had anything to do with race. I don't think the cartoon had anything to do with Pres. Obama. I don't think the cartoon was "calling for" the assassination of Pres. Obama. I think the cartoon had everything to do with the craziness surrounding the stimulus bill and the chimp/monkey that was shot yesterday. It may have been a poor and/or ambiguous analogy, but in my mind, stretching the cartoon to implicate some racial intent is a bit much.

And while Black people certainly have their own minds, and can reach their own conclusions, I am so sick of seeing Al Sharpton heading up the racial grievance brigade and having his opinion viewed as the majority opinion of all Black people. I disagree with him. I think he is using this issue, once again, to be a racial bully.

And you are absolutely right, this is not the 60s. I hope that people will be cognizant of that fact and appreciate their history more. Instead of marching/boycotting/protesting a silly cartoon, we should be focusing on serious issues that actually have an impact on the Black community. But hey, that's just me.
