Every once in a while, I find some of Olbermann's mannerisms a little annoying, but that's alright. The main difference between him and Beck is that Olbermann doesn't tell factual, demonstrable lies. And he doesn't cry on camera.

You know, though, I really can't fault Olbermann too much on this one.

Keyes is just the type of fool that plays into him by going way the hell out in right field.

Here's what I want to know: why is it everytime the media wants to talk to a black conservative/Republican, Keyes is dragged out of retirement? He doesn't represent any black Republican I know; hell, he represents very few Republicans I know, period.

I don't think that's the case. Not at all. I see other black conservatives (Tara Wall, Michelle Bernard, that cross-eyed guy, whatever his name is, Jesse Lee Peterson, Amy Holmes, Larry Elder, Carol Swain, etc.) on TV a lot more often than I see Keyes.

I wish someone would tell them that if you find yourself defending the indefensible then you lose any and all credibility (as witnessed by Holmes and Christie on CNN last week.) You know that you're out of touch when an older white guy from the South, David Gergen, is more attuned to what constitutes racist imagery than Ron Christie. I'm telling you with all seriousness that a klansman could call them the "N" word to their faces while burning a cross on their lawns and they would still find a reason not to label the person racist. They are in a word, delusional.

The stated white house reason for this bit of politics is the low unemployment numbers (about 5%) in that district 2ndary to the massive amounts of federal dollars pumped into N.O.L.A. by the Bush administration for rebuilding efforts. Some other states have unemployment at about 10%.
