I don’t agree with that at all. I think it’s been great but it doesn’t get rid of the low wage jobs, the apathy, the baby daddies, or do anything for those who already think highly of themselves and are living well. Like I said we have to catch ourselves from giving symbolism so much power. Seeing a slender athletic woman for ie isn’t going to do anything to improve my health. I have to do that on my own. Nor should I blame that woman if I don’t. It’s not her responsibility.

I sorta agree. We need to be careful not to project. Michelle is her own person. We need to focus on uplifting ourselves. It’s hard to stop the tendency to make it all about her though.

I agree. But you cannot deny that the Black female psyche was, to an extent, repaired as a result of Michelle Obama becoming the nation's first African American first lady.

When I read “Adoration,” on the NPR website, I nearly broke into tears. I'm so proud of my Black sisters for pledging to actively defend and protect Michelle Obama throughout the election cycle. We understood that by calling out the media's attempts to ghettoize and demonize Michelle, we were in fact defending ourselves.

They should have been doing this all along to push for self-sufficiency and accountability. I wonder if they would've done this had Essence still been Black owned. Selling it whole was stupid stupid stupid. They could've tried to keep a small ownership amount for less money.

Except Ah-nold wants to cut the school year for public school children as well even as CA falls further behind national averages for math, science and other important subjects. The US is already scraping the barrel compared to students in foreign countries and they have longer school days.

He's still going to try to raise the state sales tax to 10-10.25%.

Hopefully people will think twice about voting celebrities into high gov't office.
