D, I have a wonderful family! And I love them soooo much! When we get together, the laughter and joy is off the chart. Our children are so special, smart, and never cease to teach me and hubby what really matters in life.

BEING TOGETHER.

The mini van will bring so many memories for you and your family. There’s room for playing games, eating, sleeping, it’s like a room away from home. Our kids loved the van. They felt secure and it’s a great transition for kids when you plan on stoping at a motel.

Do you realize how infrequent Black faces have appeared in Vogue in the past? I know you know the answer to that.

Yet Anna Wintour, and pratically the entire fashion industry has embraced the Obama family wholeheartedly. And I think that it is a HUGE improvement.

Only now have we seen an emergence of minority women in the pages /covers of many publications like Vogue….and a lot of it is due to the “Barack and Michelle Obama effect.”

I don't doubt that many people felt slighted. Does the that Michelle and Barrack are Black automatically mean that someone who is also African American be a part of every aspect of what they do to feel represented? I'm not saying that is what you are saying... I'm asking to put the idea in the air- at which point is being critical about this one detail and perhaps diminishing the multicultural sentiment of also including other groups in the day. There was LOTS of African Americans represented during the inauguration from Aretha Franklin to Joe Lowery, African American culture and tradition was represented, in my opinion very prominently...and I loved it. But being critical over not getting a shout out in Michelle's clothing? Sounds like jealousy and greed to me and NOT AT ALL respectful or grateful for best representation of all- the First family.

Where is HER sense of community? Or is she defining community as only the African American community? He is the President of Cuban Americans, Asian Americans, white Americans, people with disabilities, etc.

She can feel slighted, or she can feel proud that other communities of color and less recognized designers were given a special opportunity. I'm sad she chose the former.

Michelle Obama has had her voice. I said don’t let the Obama campaign handlers change her voice. After all, this is the woman who was concerned about becoming successful and leaving the black community behind.

BAA’s frustration needs to be channeled to CFDA, and fashion magazine editors like Anna Wintour, Glenda Bailey and demand that black designers be given as much exposure as their white counterparts.

And have these designers sent sketches to the First Lady or Ikram Goldman, who has been working with her?
