ya'll are getting me geeked up for this. Part of me thinks I am crazy for actually going down there and part of me says "I wouldn't miss this for the world"!

I'm on AMTRAK Tues arriving in DC at 8:00am. I hope I actually can get to my ticket entrance...

I was so taken with Malia and her camera....acting like a typical tourist! It was so warming to know her parents probably told her to take her own camera to take pics of the performers. This is a family for all of us!!!!!

Awww...when my family and I used to go on vacations, my father used to take all the pictures with his professional camera. I had a little "hello kitty" cam that I got one year for Christmas so then there were two photographers in the family.

I remember the first time I went to DC, it was for my cousin's graduation from Howard many years ago. I love D.C. even though the fact that there are so many urban poor living in the capitol of a wealthy union is pretty embarassing and shameful reminder of certain realities in this country.

Anyways....I am so happy and excited for the Obama girls. I would die to meet them and give them both kisses!!

Having been disgusted by the Bush 'wins' I didn't pay attention to the inaugurations for him. Is this a bit of a raucous inauguration?

I was reading and saw HBO was airing the concert, ran out, flipped the TV on, and sure 'nuf - there was the 40 year-old virgin & what's-his name, Jamie .... (brain lockdown). I wasn't going to watch it, but Bettye Lavette came out and I was out there for quite awhile. John Mellencamp is playing now. Oh! Queen Latifah.

That John Legend is so damned cute, Jon Bon Jovi still looks pretty good as does his hair, and those boots Mary Jo Blige wore (saw the pic) - I'm not much on animal prints, but those SO go.

So where are u relative to the stage in this shot Baratunde?

Toobin was on CNN saying that the crowd may not be as big as expected because of the stories on security issues and crowd size.

Does anyone think he's right?

Well, in New Orleans, people always complained that the crowds were too much during Mardi Gras, but that never stopped people from coming every year, even after Katrina. So if people can come to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, with windows still blown out, homes still boarded up, people still not returned to N'awlins, then I think that by Monday, most people witll have come to Washington, and Tuesday will be a beast.

Here's hoping Toobin is wrong!!!

I've been overcome with nausea so I couldn't make today's festivities. I'll be better for the rest of it all, though.

I can't wait to get out and interview people on camera and take pictures!!!
