I'm semi-reluctant to doubt many of Shearer's observations. He is a longtime resident, and he's enthusiastically chided (both on HuffPo and Le Show both Obama and McCain for not even mentioning Katrina recovery in New Orleans during the campaign. And Shearer is certainly no conservative.

That's not to say that he might not be holding back on the real class/race clashes going on in N.O.

What this means is that the senior analysts and senior correspondents don't know shyt about Obama and they are grasping at straws. Only when they decide to allow those 'junior rookies' to ascend up the ladder and write articles and give political analysis will we hear far greater insight about Obama and what the nuanced way he has of speaking and addressing topics really means.

Obama represents a huge paradigm shift in political thinking and how he will govern. Analysts have not caught up yet, they are still working from the old paragdigm and frustrated by it not being effective, thus they write critical articles with unsubstantive analysis.

This is so true. Hilarious when I read it, yet, I knew it to be true, because I didn't have to go any further than my immediate family. You get 2 POC together, and they have no idea what their children will look like. You hope for them to be ' normal and healthy' – like Grandmama used to say . She outta know. She had everything from milk chocolate to my aunt, who could have passed for a red-headed White woman. Oh, the stories she used to tell about being mistaken for the MAMMY when she went out with my aunt in the ' White' sections of town.

oh please do share when you find that bean pie recipe. a couple of the old school guys who hang at the tech center keep reminiscing about the ones that used to be sold in dudley square. they would be so tickled if i made one,

the sweet potatoes can cook at 375 or 400 degrees. be sure to use a fork and stick them each in a few places so they don't explode in the oven! i start checking them for oozing and softness after 20 minutes, but depending on the size and type they can take up to an hour. like i said, look for a little ooze and also stick them with a fork all the way in — if the potato is soft and the fork goes in easy, they are done. my friend says you can boil up the sweet potatoes, but the taste is better if you bake them. . . happy cooking!

I so want to try the recipe…but I only one potato…so guess what? I am going to make me a one potatoe pie with the ingredients!!

Can't wait…hahaha…it will be crustless but I bet good. besides, isn't it the crust that has all the freakin calories?

Excellent argument. It is precisely the reason why I have withheld judgment on so much. I am going to enjoy his inauguration and watch what he does as President. Then we will begin to see what he is all about. I for one am looking forward to seeing what he is capable of.
