However, the reason I remain skeptical about this kind of "merger" is from what I saw in a school district when they tried to name a school "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." in a predominately white community.

THEY were "protesting in the streets" FOR DAYS!!!

Thought that the NAME would attract "MORE OF THEM" to the neighborhood. They even went so far as to say that the NAME would DECREASE PROPERTY VALUES!!

RESULT: The NAME was NOT selected. :>)

BUT, that is just my experience of one incident - - "as far as I know!" :>) :>)

Annnnd, therefore, I don't believe that the HBCU traditions would last over time. IMHO :>)

Yep. Just heard that Chrysler is shutting down all its plants for a month, which means 46,000 folks are going to have a less than Merry Christmas. It seems like when you think the economy can't get any worse, each day brings more bad news. My stomach is too tied up in knots over that to gin up much concern about Warren, even if I think he's a sanctimonious windbag.
