I have got to watch the video of this when I get home. The transcript sounds hilarious. I just don't understand how Mika can be related to such a brilliant and thoughful man.
I have not watched Joe "Racist" Scarborough in a minute. I would go into work pissed off so the local news had to suffice.. Even now, I am cutting back on some of MSNBC's evening line up.
spirit_55z
Saw it. And if Mika would cease from having her BLONDE moments, she'd take lessons from her dear old dad.
pjamma
That's what pisses me off about Mika. I know she is smart. I can't imagine her growing up in such a politically aware and involved family and not have a strong knowledge of domestic and foreign affairs. Not to mention she received and excellent education outside of her home. Why does she play the role of Joe's dumb blonde sidekick? She should be kicking his ass intellectually.
Admiral_Komack
Joe has a lot of yes-clones on his show, so when Zbig bitch-slapped him, it was SWEET!
Denise
I tuned in just when her Dad told Joe: "I'll answer your question if you stop interrupting me!!!!"
Pops wasn't HAVING IT this a.m.!

The way Scarborough reacted is a textbook example of how a narcissist reacts when insulted.
Against Race Politics
Now you have me curious- how did he react???????
spirit_55z
Now come on, ARP. Joe Scar's ever present air of self-importance and glaring irritation when folks don't automatically agree agree with him.
How could he with what appears to be no parenting? He's in a foster home? Where is "dad"? The one that hadn't been in his life at all but conveniently popped up for camera time when CNN came a calling?
spirit_55z
Shame, it's kid like him who will either get proper parenting and schooling or end up in prison as a slave to corporate America.
He needs mentoring. He's a troubled youth who needs rehabilitation. Is he out of high school yet? Last time I heard of him, he was playing football. He said he would stay out of trouble? what happened?
Only 48 more hours left in 2008 and Blaggy is determined to keep bringing the crazy. Didn't his lawyer just say a couple of weeks ago, that Rod was NOT going to appoint someone. It seems like he just doesn't want to listen to anybody.

MSNBC'S Norah O'Donnell reporting....according to Chuck Todd....Roland Burris will not be accepted in the Senate!
Go head Blagodick.....that was one shrewd move...nicely played...PEO gonna have to dig deep to fix yo azz over this one.
Kat
I don't know anything about Roland Burris, but WHY would he accept an appointment from Blago? Of COURSE the Senate won't accept him! I mean, hells bells!
TRW
Exactly. He can be as pure as the driven snow, but Reid made it clear that he wasn't going to sit anyone who was appointed by Blago, yet, according to reports, Burris continued to lobby Blago for the appointment, after he was arrested. Perception is everything, and this does not look, smell, or feel right. Burris should have just let sleeping dogs lie--sorry, this was a bad move, and I don't think he should be appointed.

Roland Burris has sterling character. Period.

It's clear Blagojevich is crazy than a MF, but who knew he was crazy as a fox?! Like it or not, it was a brilliant political move. He's put the Democrats in a position of denying entry to the only would be African American in the Senate. Harry Reid doesn't know how to play politics, and he's about to play right into Blagojevich's and the Republicans hands by rejecting Burris.

Who in their right mings would accept Blagojevich's appointment?
Justice58
He's a bully!
lamh31
that's supposed to be "right minds"!

Can I just jump in here. This is what makes me mad about CNN. A couple of weeks ago, they had three commentators talking about this case, and they brought on Roland Martin. As usual, they barely gave the man enough time to talk, but I distinctly remember him saying that there is still a possibility that Blago would make an appointment, and all those other knuckle heads poo pooed the idea and guffawed, like yeah right, that is not going to happen. And here we are today. RM may not be right about everything, but he provides insightful commentary about a variety of issues-- and he sees things that--hate to say it--the other White commentators may not, which makes me extremely irritated yet again that CNN chose to give no laughs McGee, D.L. Hughley a show, but passed up an opportunity to let RM do his own thing.
end rant.
Miranda
WELL SAID.
lamh31
I'm with you there TRW.
I love me some Roland Martin. I especially like to listen to his segments on the TJMS.
If Roland was not on CNN's election coverage, then I wouldn't watch it. If not for him, Jeffery Toobin, and David Gergen, I probably would never watch CNN's election night coverage.

Well I call in to CNN to request Roland. 212-275-7800 If they get enough calls....
Well well.........as political chess games go...I must admit....nicely played Blago...nicely played. Got'em all quite speechless with this one.lol....nicely played.

WorldTraveller
I am deeply troubled by Obama's "No Comment' on the slaughter of Palestinian women and children and wonder just how much of his soul did he have to sell to the Jews and their lobby to secure the presidency?
Moreover, I am bemused by the unfettered excitement and happiness that is awarded to Obama on the blog. World citizens have 4 (perhaps 8) years of American Protectionist policies that will without doubt exclude their interests. Blacks seem to be over the moon about this guy who will without question do little to bring attention to issues facing the black community. Palestinians will watch as yet again their dreams of fair and equal treatment by the Occupying Terrorist state of Israel are dashed beneath Obama's feet as he joins the bandwagon of Presidents who have come before him to preserve the status quo in the Middle East.
So, I ask you, is this man truly deserving of this deification that you have bestowed upon him? I look at Obama and aside from his cafe au lait skin colour, I see absolutely nothing that sets him apart from any other politician.
lamh31
Seems to me you have your own preconceived notions of what Obama should do and what he will do. And from you comments to other here with there own viewpoints, it also seems that your are here not to exchange meaningful ideas with other people. It seems you are just here so you can stand on your soapbox and preach without hearing any descent from your ideas.
It should be realized that you don't want any real conversation about the subject when you include in your opening statement that " ...is this man truly deserving of this deification that you have bestowed upon him? I look at Obama and aside from his cafe au lait skin colour..." what exactly does this have to do with the issue you want to discuss. I don't see anyone here "deifying" Obama in any way. People here have their own ideas and issues about the situation aside from Obama. If and when you want a real discussion about the I/P situation maybe next time maybe you could refrain from the backhanded insults next time.
Good day to you sir/madam
WorldTraveller
Pray tell, exactly who here who has provided a 'meaningful idea' regarding the conflict in the Middle East?
Post history will reflect that the people of this blog have relied upon everything from the importance of the economic crisis to their own hardships to the struggles of the black community in an attempt to offer an excuse as to why they will not allow themselves to become engaged in what is happening in the middle east.
I have no preconceived notions, I draw conclusions from fact, fact being the statements that Obama has made thus far about Israel (and his arse kissing speech at AIPAC, he did say that Jerusalem should not be divided, even though the Palestinians want half of Jerusalem to serve as their capital and this very issue has been the linchpin of all peace talks).
I need not a soapbox to stand upon, in my stocking feet, I stand a proud and erect 6'0, I am sure that what I have to say and my visibility are readily accessible even for the 'people in the back'.
And if you think not that Obama is being deified by the black community, you sir have been taking up residence under a very large rock. This has everything to do with the matter at hand. By and large, a large swathe of the AA community (and America) have indicated that they believe Obama to be the 'change' that was acomin', the great black hope, his very presence, his very blackness enough to earn him the unadulterated approval of the black community, regardless of whether or not this man will ever stop catering to the Jewish lobby long enough to address issues that affect the community to which he belongs. And in case you know not what community I reference, I am speaking of the black community, and the world community.
The next time you attempt to take me to task simply because I am able to effectively argue the merits of the cause of which I have chosen to support, please try to introduce factual statements and refrain from telling me exactly who I am and what I believe.
You, sir/madam, are in no position to make a window into my soul.
Likewise, I bid you good day.
lamh31
Pray tell why do you continue to post on this blog since it's obvious your intention to save us from ourselves isn't working, and you have so litte regard for our opinions since we "relied upon everything from the importance of the economic crisis to their own hardships to the struggles of the black community in an attempt to offer an excuse as to why they will not allow themselves to become engaged in what is happening in the middle east"
I appreciate you coming down from on high to try and school the lesser of us on what is "really going on" in the Middle East. But you know what just because you have ideas that you seem to think have merit, doesn't make them any more merit-ful than ours.
Your problem seems to be that you want to talk about he what's going on, but you can't seem to stop insulting people. "You SEEM" (you see how I say "you seem", not "you are", since I don't know you personally, but can only go by how you "seem" to me) like a smart person who has some valid ideas about what's going on in the Middle East, but you can't "SEEM" to refrain from insulting the intelligence of not only the people on this blog, but the African American community as a non-monolithic entitiy (" large swathe of the AA community (and America) have indicated that they believe Obama to be the 'change' that was acomin'," because you know we all talk in that ole negro spirtual sort of way doncha know).
Stay on your soapbox.
As George & Weezy used to say, "Don't let the door knob hit ya..."
spirit_55z
WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA!!!!!!
WorldTraveller
Non-monolithic community, eh? Did not record numbers of AAs turn out to vote for Obama? Is his photograph, that of his wife and his daughters not plastered all over this website?
I ask only that people get over their pride that a black man won and start judging this black man as they would any other politician who has run an effective campaign and secured office.
Again, I ask, where are these 'merit-ful' ideas? Where has anyone expressed an opinion on this aside from implying that what is going on in the MIddle East doesn't concern them?
Do you have anything to offer or are you simply here for entertaining vernacular and shucking and jiving for laughs?
lamh31
Fist of all: "Do you have anything to offer or are you simply here for entertaining vernacular and shucking and jiving for laughs?"
Wow, insults, not surprised. And this helps you save face how???
Second: "Is his photograph, that of his wife and his daughters not plastered all over this website?"
Oh wait a minute, is JJP a blog dedicated to politics and culture geared towards to an African American perspective, or is is supposed to be a news organization. Obviously you are not aware of which it is. And what is the BIGGEST story in politics from the African American perspective, oh right...BARACK OBAMA!!! So yeah his pic and that of his family are all plastered over this website.
Did you come here by mistake? Were you looking for Newsweek, MSNBC, FOXNews, Washington Post, or the New York Times website. Of course not, because you are here accusing me of "shucking and jiving for laughs" and calling out the African American community monolithic, because you want to have heartfelt and vigorous discussion about Middle East issues.
Please! I don't know about you, but I tend to not want to have discussions with people who really want to insult and not really converse and discuss. People like you.
"Shucking and jiving..." WOW!
You certainly pwned me.
WorldTraveller
Hit a nerve did I?
Did you not engage in attack first? Labeling me as a grandstanding rabble-rouser equipped with soapbox?
No, I did not meander upon this website by mistake. I've been reading for quite sometime. Perhaps I was mistaken in thinking that what is happening in the Middle East would illicit a strong condemnation from the patrons of this blog.
Am I supposed to be saving face? Saving face from what? the ability to effectively argue my points? In my part of the world, this is trait highly lauded.
As you tend to 'not want to have discussions with people who really want to insult' (as mistaken as you are about my intentions) I tend not to want to attempt intelligent discussions with people who quote defunct television shows and watch VH-1.
Surely your time could be put to better use and you would be better served educating yourself on the conflict in the Middle East and how this directly affects you and your world, no?
lamh31
Again sir, thank you for showing me the error of my ways.
I will hence forth go and education my on the conflict.
Since you obviously know so much more than I or any other here at JJP maybe you can give me a suggestion on where to start?
Until then I'm gonna go back to VH-1.
Waiting to hear from you all-knowing one.
Thanks.
WorldTraveller
Actually, you may correctly address me as Doctor.
Moreover, I am every inch a woman.
And my suggestion is that any serious attempt to educate oneself must begin by switching off VH-1.
spirit_55z
I don't want to get over my pride for President-Elect Obama, Ever! And, I'll still comment and critique him as I see fit. I'll reserve the C & C until he gets in office and actually starts implementing policy. Thank you!

Miranda
With all due respect, the President-elect, not any President after him will be settling that conflict or even getting close to settling that conflict...EVER..EVER NEVER....LIKE NEVER....NEVER EVER...FOR ALWAYS NEVER.....seriously. A conflict rooted in God giving some land to Jacob will not be settled in this lifetime or the next one...EVER...EVER NEVER.
WorldTraveller
This is not a conflict rooted in God giving land, this is a conflict stemming from the world's inability (or lack of desire) to bring a rogue and arbitrary government to heel and force them to abide by the very laws that came about as a direct result of the injustices inflicted upon them by Western Europeans.
Those of you who believe that this conflicts roots are mostly religious are sorely mistaken and evidently not very well educated on the dynamics of the conflict.
Miranda
This conflict didn't start 50 years ago, or 75 years ago...it started with Abraham and it will not end until we all see the four horseman, so please....you and your "edu-ma-cation" are duly noted, but it still means squat in terms of that conflict EVER being resolved.
spirit_55z
True dat. lol @"edu-ma-cation"
AM2k6
Miranda, if that's so, then we should just sit on our asses and wait for Jesus to return.
Miranda
If anyone thinks that conflict will be resolved then sitting on our asses is pretty much as effective as anything else would be.

RonnieB
President-elect Obama has economic business that needs to be handled here. As an American, I don't necessarily want his focus to be on the never-ending Arab-Israeli battle. I need his focus to be on repairing our economy so that our country does not become a Gaza.
Yeah, RonnieB, but when my tax money goes to fund the Israeli state--instead of going to pay for infrastructure in my neighborhood or healthcare for poor people, then we definitely need a clear and concise policy towards Israel.
At this point, I believe the Palestinians would welcome a call for Israel to stop violating Article 33 of the Geneva Conventions IV (1949) which reads: "No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties, pillage and reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited".
Baby steps. Lets start with the application of International Law which both America and Israel are so prone to flouting.
No, Hamas wants a militant Islamist state that will kill all Jews. If you are Palestinian I think you know that. If you have seen their media, you will see their irrational hatred for Jews (yes, ALL Jews)
WorldTraveller
Hamas wants Israel to stop expanding outside of the agreed and internationally recognised 1967 borders. They also want their people to be treated with dignity and respect and allowed to return to their land just as the Jews have the right to return to Israel.
I assume that you are Palestinian and understand Arabic. - as I do as well. Read their charter. Look at the Arabic media. Read what they say about Jews.
WorldTraveller
I am not Palestinian, but I do have a vested interest in what happens in the Arab world as I do with what happens in America as I do with what happens in the African American community.
I am of a varied and diverse background, a world citizen so to speak ( which would have been by sobriquet had someone not beaten me to the punch).
I do know for certain that the Arabs have no quarrel with Jews as a whole (see thriving Jewish communities throughout the Middle East), but rather the quarrel and rightly so is with the Zionists who believe they have an ancient right to the land and will stop at nothing to ethnically cleanse this land of the Palestinians.
WorldTraveller
Sorry, I do not 'feel you'. In point of fact, your statement comes off as little more than an excuse for inaction. If President-Elect Obama cannot handle multiple tasks at one time, then he should not be the President of the United States. The ability to multi-task is part and parcel of the job (see McCain's public support for the presidency after he suspended his campaign to address the economic crisis'.
Obama needs to take an unbiased stand on the ethnic cleansing of Palestine particularly as his comment are now a sound bite of the current Israeli President to justify his actions in Gaza.
His 'no comment' is irresponsible at best and a tacit approval at its very worse.
Justice58
If President-Elect Obama cannot handle multiple tasks at one time, then he should not be the President of the United States. The ability to multi-task is part and parcel of the job (see McCain's public support for the presidency after he suspended his campaign to address the economic crisis'.
PEO has repeatedly stated.....There's only one President at a time!
WorldTraveller
And again, I repeat do you honestly believe that Obama will go against the Status Quo? That when he takes office, he will call on israel to stop bombing women and children?
Really?
Justice58
I can't claim to know what's in the mind of PEO. I don't know how he will address the Palestinian/Israel situation but I would rather his main priority be on our own economic crisis right here.
WorldTraveller
This isn't about the order of his priorities, you are being intentionally obtuse.
This is about a truly fair and balanced approach to the situation which many believe Obama will not undertake.
Nobody is marginalising the economic crisis and the continuous mention of the state of American economics is little more than a ploy of distraction.
RonnieB
In the late '80s through the mid-'90's, streets in major American cities were battle zones and killing fields for gangs. They fought and died for, among other things, territory for their drug trade. But they also fought because they knew nothing more than their instinctive hate for each other.
Where were Yitzhak Shamir or Yitzshak Rabin or Yasser Arafat when America needed them? Did they even have a comment?
The outright ignorance of this statement is astounding. So, because the Palestinians were unable to stop disenfranchised black youths, who were killing themselves in America whilst flouting the opportunities provided by education (as they continue to do today), Americans should continue to provide blanket support for Israel's ethnic cleansing and even worse, completely disregard this injustice?
I am sorry, but the state of America's black community is the fault of America's black community. I am black. I am from the deep south. I have traveled and studied all over the world. I had the same opportunities as all blacks in America. I am not buying that 'oh woe is me, I is black' attitude. Come again.
I will say, however, that this would not be an American issue if America had not provided training and weapons to the Arab freedom fighters that they have now come to label as terrorist. This would not be America's problem if the bombs that are raining down on Gaza didn't have 'made in America' stamped on them. This would not be an American problem if our unremitting pursuit of Arab oil did not dictate the politics and policies of the Middle East.
Israel has only the right to punish those perpetrators who are firing rockets into Israel, it does not have the right to apply a 6 month blockade to the whole of Gaza thus starving men, women and children who have absolutely nothing to do with the firing of rockets into Israel. And it is absolutely not within Israel's right to bomb the most densely populated strip of land in the world for the purposes of destroying the democratically elected government of Palestine.
If you argue in favour of the latter point, then you are inadvertently providing the key argument for those who struck out at America on 11 September 2001. If collective punishment of a population for the sins of its government is the order of the day, then one can hardly wait for the next massive terrorist attack on United States soil, non?
RonnieB
I am sorry, but the state of America's black community is the fault of America's black community.
I am sorry, but the state of [Palestine vs. Israel] is the fault of Palestine and Israel.
WorldTraveller
Again, yet another ignorant statement.
The state of Palestine and Israel is a direct result of America providing 3 billion USD of American taxpayer dollars a year to Israel to stockpile nuclear weapons and arms.
If America was giving the Bloods 3 billion USD a year to fight the Crips, then you might have a leg to stand on.
I am FOR working on the issues in my own community. I can accept that there be balance, but I refuse to drop everything I do in my own community to take up the Palestinian issue as they continually demand when you even talk to them about the issue
Believe me Worldtraveler, I know tons of Palestinians and this is NOT a new issue for me.
No one is for killing people, but let's put a little onus on the rest of the Arab world.
Where is you all's outrage at the police states that are Arab govt's? Where was you all's outrage when Hafiz Asad slaughtered some 25 thousand Arabs?
Why is all the outrage saved ONLY for Israel? Irrational Jew hate is not something that will get my people very far. Or for that matter - the Palestinians. But I can only worry about my people
Our country and community are in shambles and we need to do something about our own back yards
WorldTraveller
Your country and your community are in shambles because of the politics, policies and practices of your country and your community.
This cycle of wrong doing will not end until drastic changes are made to US Foreign Policy.
This has nothing to do with irrational Jewish hatred. This has everything to do with the illegal oppression and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, which if America continues to support, will do much for the recruitment of arab freedom fighters (yeah, I said it) to take up arms and fight the Israelis and the Americans who continue to place their collective boots on their necks.
If you are content to turn a blind eye, who am I to argue against it?
But, I will say that America should not play victims when the next terrorist attack occurs on American soil. Indeed, I would say that if and when this happens, the world should turn a blind eye as American's problems are not those of the world and they are under no obligation to take up this war against terror. Leave America to fight its own battles.
as it has successfully done in Iraq and Afghanistan.....oh wait.....
And it is up to us of my country to FIX the mistakes that have been made. We FIX our own problems.
Yes there are secular Arabs that have no problems with Jews, but I am talking about these irrational medievalists who want the world to burn
You just can't expect us to take the side of the Hamas' of the world and want to wipe out the Jews as some of their "religious texts" say.
Micheline
When something like this happens you defer to the president.
WorldTraveller
Indeed, as the economic crisis was deferred to the current president?
I seem to recall Obama announcing his economic plan and appointing key members of his cabinet during this time. I cannot recall his camp issuing a 'no comment'.
Micheline
He did so because Bush wasn't doing anything.
rorysmomma
the economic crisis is not war......
WorldTraveller
is the ethnic cleansing of Palestine any less of a crisis? This is the root of the problem with America, if it does not affect you directly, then it is of little consequence.
rorysmomma
If he says something contrary to what the current administration is doing, then he can cause an international incident.
WorldTraveller
Obama apologists out in full force, I see.
You honestly think that Obama will approach the Middle East Crisis in a way that is drastically different from that of his predecessor?
With 'Israel' Emmanuel as his gatekeeper and Hilary, ' Jerusalem will never be divided' Clinton as his Secretary of State? Really?
How delusional are the people on this blog? Obama is not the second coming nor is he anything more than a politician who happens to be black. You guys are in for a rude awakening over the next four years.
Admiral_Komack
You really need to eat some cheese with that whine, because you're not convincing anyone.
rorysmomma
I never said he was the second coming....... You did. I can't deal with the Israel Palestinian issues because quite frankly they are not my issues. I feel for the families that have lost loved ones. However, the Palestenians chose Hamas, and now they have to deal with the consequences. We chose George Bush and we have to reap the consequences. So spare me the obama apologist crap.
I don't know how he will adddress the issue, but don't blame him for it. He didn't cause the shyt he is just the one who will be stuck trying to clean it up.

I worry about a lot of injustice in the world. Were you complaining when Katrina happened, or was that just ignorant black folks. I feel we should never get involved with middle eastern affairs because we don't know what the hell they are fighting about. They have been fighting for thousands of years......
US intervention has worked out real well in the middle east right?
WorldTraveller
I was born and raised in the South (and sitting in the South as I type) so, do not tell me that I do not know what you have had to endure.
What did you do when Katrina happened? Did you march in protest? Did you go to Capital Hill to make your thoughts known?
Why do people on this board continue to inaccurately state that this has been happening for thousands of years?
Please look up the 'Ottoman Empire' and also research the origins of the present conflict. It kicked off in the 1940s. This conflict is not even a hundred years old.

I am not as learned or as enlightened as you.....obviously. I do however know that I need to clean around my own house before I try to get other people's houses in order.
The Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z, whose lyrics President-elect Barack Obama channeled on the campaign trail in a swipe at his former rival, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, will headline an inaugural weekend opening party in Washington.
Jay-Z, along with singer Akon, and rappers T.I. and Young Jeezy, will perform at the Love nightclub on Friday, Jan. 16, the club’s owner, Marc Barnes, said in an interview on Monday.

Last April, in Raleigh, N.C., Mr. Obama dismissed jabs from Senator Clinton by brushing imaginary dust from his shoulders, a reference to Jay-Z’s song “Dirt Off Your Shoulder.” Within hours, YouTube users uploaded video mashups of the candidate’s gesture with the tune as a soundtrack.
Mr. Obama later acknowledged that Jay-Z was among those on his iPod playlists, along with Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder, among others.
Jay-Z was an ardent supporter of Obama during the primaries and the general election, campaigning for the Democrat and headlining events as well as allowing the Obama campaign to use several of his songs. In his latest CD, “The Blueprint 3,” the rapper who built an empire from his impoverished roots to become a millionaire, made his support plain.
“I rock with Obama but I ain’t no politician,” Jay-Z rapped.
In HONOR of Mr. President-Elect Obama!! :>)

rikyrah: There are very few "NEW YEARs" SONGS. BUT, I'm "bringin' this":
Hey guys, I need your help and support on something.
Well, I have been working as a part time sales lead @ a high end retail store for two years now along side my other job. Today while I was in the restroom, I noticed a presence right outside the door. I did not think anything of it. I was in there for a while because I felt fatique. When I came out my manager was there and barely let me get out before he went in and began searching the place. He then, get this!!! Accused me of stealing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He claimed that there was something in there that was not there before and that it looked similiar to the top I had layered under my sweater. He began asking me when I bought it and all this other stuff. I was so offended. He then proceeded to call our district manager and loss prevention. He really had no proof other than that he claimed he saw something in the bathroom that was no longer there that looked similar to what I had on. He is a new manager and has made it obvious that he was profiling me since he felt the need to come after me in the way that he did. I should include that I am the only black employee. He even accused me of stealing the sweater I had on! Outrageous! He proceeded to then look into my purchase history and claimed he did not see the items when I indeed bought them both. It has been over a year since I bought them, they are both pretty worn. I am offended and feel dehumanized. They think I am a criminal and they are treating me like I am a criminal.
However what really bothers me is that these idiots have the ability to tarnish my record so I may have problems getting employment in the future especially with my black face. So far, it is really he said, she said and I am not guilty of any wrongdoing. Nonetheless, I want to be proactive in assuring that this does not unfairly tarnish me in anyway, what should I do?
P.S. I will be calling the company's human resources to discuss the matter as well as handing in a resignation. However I am sure there are more bases that should be covered.
Any advice.

Bad Economy + New Guy = Wants to put his own person in your spot.
Don't quit. Document the incident. Limit conversation w/ HR to facts. If threatened or bullied stand your ground.
Look into cross-filing complaints w/ state and federal human rights/EEO agencies.
Miranda
I believe everyone here has given you much more constructive feedback on what to do than I ever could....my suggestion would involve violence of a serious nature and possible jailtime so please go with what justice, spirit, GLH, lilytiger, H&F and NMP said.
spirit_55z
Word, Miranda. I would probably bring in the biggest honkin' can opener and opened up a serious can of whoop Azzz! Where CPL at?
She said she had ta bounce at her job because had she stayed, she would have been accused of assault.
Rhondacoca, just know that we're with you.

LOLOLOL!

From an attorney:
You must take action immediately. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT!!!!! Call an Employment Attorney and give him the facts. State the facts. Facts overide emotions. He/She will be able to work with you and the HR crew. Work with both. Don't make any accusations about the bozo!
Justice58
As GreenLady stated...."No Crying"! Sometimes that is hard to do especially when someone is being mean & insulting. Don't let him/them break you!
NMP
File an immediate complaint with EEOC.

I was thinking the same thing as Spirit...."stalking you outside the ladies room"? OMFG! Talk about Creepy! The S.O.B.!
spirit_55z
This is one creepy mofo, literally stalking you outside the ladys room! It's HARRASSMENT. He has no proof of any wrong doing. You have no history of criminal behaviour.
Don't quit. The less said the better. Document everything. I smell a big ass LAWSUIT!!!
I work for an attorney. He's off today but I'll call him in an 30 minutes to get his take on the situation.
I would speak to an employment attorney and file a report with the Labor Dept. They need to know that they are opening themselves up to a lawsuit from you by having some crackpot new guy - white of course - just come in off the bat and accuse you of something with no proof.
Don't quit just because some idiot is lying. You have to figure out if he's taking orders from someone above him or trying to get one of his friends hired in your place or pulling some other 'scam'.
I worked at a store where the manager stole $6000 and tried to set up an employee to take the fall because they were the only 2 people in the store with the code to the safe at that time. People are shady. I really want to say white people are so shady but I'm trying to be fair here.

Rhondacoca: 1. DON'T QUIT!! Do you have a JOB waiting for you?? Bank?
2. Be CAREFUL of the HR person! He/she works for THEM!! DO NOT DEMEAN the OWNER!! HR has a pipeline to the OWNER! He/she ALREADY KNOWS!!
3. WRITE YOU OWN INCIDENT REPORT!! Be VERY SPECIFIC!! WHO said WHAT WHEN [time]. Be FACTUAL - LIMIT the EMOTIONS!! DATE IT!
4. With NO EVIDENCE YOU have a lesser chance of having your RECORD TARNISHED. Which brings me to the point of your FILE. YOU have a RIGHT to SEE it! Make an appointment to do so! IFFF you have a right to a copy of EVERYTHING in it, REQUEST IT. Limit your conversation in front of HR. Did I say that he/she works for the OWNER? :>)
You might very well find that NOTHING was entered into it. That's one of the "SCARE TACTICS" that some managers use. YOUR FILE! [oooooooooo - scary ghost sounds! :>)]
IFFF, an entry was made, FIND OUT IFFF you have a RIGHT to make your own statement and attach it to the manager's ENTRY!!
5. Limit your conversation with HR. Ask SPECIFIC QUESTIONS which you have WRITTEN. NO LONG NARRATIVES, lest you give THEM more information than they need! Annnnnnd, NO CRYING!!
6. One more thing: Limit your conversations about this incident with "colleagues." You don't know who the MANAGER depends on for information.
O.K. I'm tha-rough for NOW! :>) Keep working as usual & try to be calm! :>)
Lilytiger
Wow. Firstly, he is new and you have a history there. Is there someone there who you have worked with you can vouch for you personally and your clothes. Go to HR and tell them how offended you are. If it is a high end retail store the style of your clothes should be apparent that they are not new.
When dealing with HR, be calm but insist how completely wrong and degarding to be accused of such things and especially without any proof.
As for what they can and cannot say to future employers, I know that I could not tell would be employers that the woman they were thinking of hiring had a habit of sleeping in rooms, she was a housekeeper. By law, not sure if it is state of federal you cannot impinge upon someone's reputation.
Be calm and insistant. Good luck. Keep your head up high. He's an ass.

The snob was on point. Beonyce hasn't been through the kind of PAIN to emote Etta James.
It was great to she gave props to other Blues singers. I loves me some Koko Taylor. "I Got What it Takes."
Miranda
Ain't NOTHING like the Blues.......those folks went THRU IT.......
Everytime I watch the Color Purple, I can barely wait for that scene when Shug comes thru the church taking over "God Is Tryin To Tell U Something". As the old folks say.....That lil gal up in the choir stand just didn't get it....her nice voice just wasn't cuttin it....you had to have a VOICE that had been THRU IT to really SANG that number!
spirit_55z
Word, Miranda.
The opening line from "Your Blues Ain't Like Mine" By Bebe Moore Campbell
"The music was as much a gift as sunshine, as rain, as any blessing ever prayed for."
I have nothing personal against Beonyce. She's not my cup of tea. I've got blues and jazz in my blood.
Miranda
I LOVE THAT BOOK! You said it!
There is a reason that when Fantasia sang " Summertime" on freaking American Idol, that she cried, I cried, Paula cried, the audience cried, we ALL CRIED...she sent a chill up my spine. That girl sang from her gut, sitting on the damn floor, barefoot..............her soul was born 60 years ago, her body just came late. She's not supposed to be here.
bittersweet
I love Fantasia. That is all.
spirit_55z
Yes,I believe Fantasia is an old Soul with life times of experience.
First time I saw her, that's what immediately sprung to mind. They almost have the same sounding voice.
Miranda
That's just eerie......
I know its a Billie classic, but wouldn't you just love to hear Fantasia sing "God Bless the Child"? Man, that just has a brown liquor, newport cigarette sound to it. So old school, time might really reverse itself in the process of listening to her.
spirit_55z
Ain't that the truth, Ruth!

Bristol Palin's newborn son's name is Tripp. Hey! This shyte ain't funny!!?? PWT!
Wow...Black Snob TOTALLY gets what I've tried to articulate to others. I like Beyonce, would totally go to her concert because she puts on a helluva show...but would pay just as much to sit in a small smoky basement club and watch Lauryn, Jill, Angie or Fantasia do nothing but sit and SANG...I mean SAAAAANG...probably be bawling my eyes out before the first break too.
rorysmomma
I agree with snob for the most part, however, if she has gone through any real pain, we will never know it.
