Although I am late to the discussion, the auto industry bailout is serious stuff. How many auto workers were able, because of decent wages able to by homes and send their kids to college? the point is that a black middle class owes its creation to the auto industry. Those retirement benefits keeps our elders financially independent and in a position to transfer wealth to future generations. Wake up folks this is a critical issue for black folks and we need to support a bailout for the industry that has helped take us from sharecropper status to participation in the American Dream.

The reality is - you don't agree to subvert the law, you get asked to leave.

I'd rather leave than get caught subverting the law and then getting fired for getting caught subverting THE LAW.

Doesn't make it any easier, knowing you did the right thing when the bank account is empty, bill collectors want their money and the landlord wants his rent or else you're getting put out on the street. And the streets of DC are mean enough when the weather is warm - when it gets cold, those streets are downright brutal.

CPL, word on Mike Moore and JJP. They'd be very wise to read JJP, cause the bloggers here tell it like it is, and not like it was.

I think the whole point is there are aof the few filthy rich who are holding the purse strings deciding who they're going to throw the next bit of crumbs to. So, why not the atheletes if the average folk can't afford to attend their sporting events, why not the Hip Hop artist if the average folk can't afford to purchase their CDs, attend their concerts? No problem for them though, since they already rake in a gazillion bucks!

I guess the average folks need to look at what and where we are funneling our money, cause it appears the top to bottom stradegy is still in the illusional stage!

Sport athletes need to be BAILING OUT others, instead of looking for a bailout.

But I have to agree with Michael Moore - why make the Auto Industry jump through hoops after you just gave a blank check to Hank Paulson to bailout his homies on Wall Street, and basically told Congress he wasn't going to tell them jack about what he did with the money.
