Hell, compare my alma mater (UAB) to the facilities at the University of Alabama. Both play in 1A/FBS, but one program is in its 13th season in fielding a football team period, while the other has been rocking it out in the SEC for over 70 years (over 100 in football, overall). If there's that disparity there, you know there's going to be one with the FAMUs & Gramblings of the world.

Peruse the ESPN bottom line when an Alabama State or a Grambling faces off against another D-I school in basketball. They don't have to be a Duke or North Carolina or a Tennessee or a Memphis. They could be a Butler, a Bradley, or a Wofford, and you might see the HBCU get blasted. Same thing happens if the SWAC team happens to face off against a non-conference opponent in football, say like a Samford or a Western Carolina in football.

I wonder if the 'classics', as well attended as they can be, are actually putting money back into the coffers of the schools that play in them. I can look at football schedules and see HBCU teams that play a 12 game schedule, but only have like four true home games, with some away and several 'classics' at a neutral site. But home games are the only games where all of the ticket and concession sales come back to the university; they're also the only games that you can invite prospective recruits (per NCAA rules–'Bama State just found out what happens when you don't follow them).

Dare I say it, there might be some HBCU programs that might benefit from moving down to Divsion-II.

I wanted to add that you are a doll baby, but I shouldn't get props for (as Chris Rock reminds us) doing what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm fine & having a much better life than my ex-husband who walked away from our kids because parenting them was “too hard”.

Secondly, this child had no support from either mother or grandparents. The child ….I just think of her last moments and I get choked up… rest in peace, little one.

I just refuse to believe it.

It's evident the Casey did not want this child. I don't think had anything to do with mental illness and disability. This woman just did not want to be a mother. Period. Instead of during the right thing (in this case) leaving her with her parents, she took Caylee's life.

All I can do is shake my head and pray for that innocent baby who didn't ask to be born.
