Ever heard, "Colour My World," "Wishing You Were Here," and something a little stronger, "Dialogues, Parts I and II"?
Their horn section ranked neck and neck in the Seventies with Tower of Power's in my view for sheer power. You always knew who was playing when their records debuted.
Why does someone discriminate black? I don't think love is just belongs to white. I'm a black and but my hubby is white. We met at i n t e r r a c i a l romancing . c o m which tell us love is color blind. Our love proved this. I hope each one will not discriminate blacks.

rikyrah: This comes under the heading - - "SO SAY YOU ALL?"
Update - 6:20PM ET: All fifty members of the Democratic Senate caucus have signed Majority Leader Harry Reid's letter calling on Gov. Rod Blagojevich to step down from his post and refrain from appointing anyone to the vacated Illinois Senate seat, a source confirms.
The development is noteworthy on several fronts. It signals that the Democratic Party, led by the Nevada Democrat, is organizing a united front against allegations of corruption - though, on this matter, it would be remarkable had any Senator refused to sign the petition. More importantly, it indicates that the Democratic senators are prepared to exercise their constitutional authority to undo any move that Blagojevich may make before he exits office.
Because he is still, officially, the governor, Blagojevich has the power to appoint Barack Obama's replacement. Illinois officials have tried to take away such authority by passing legislation that would allow the seat to be decided by a special election. But Blagojevich could make the appointment before the bill becomes law. That said, the United States Senate has the power to reject his appointment - something that Reid threatened in his letter. The fact that 49 other Democratic colleagues, including Vice President-elect Joseph Biden and Secretary of State nominee Hillary Clinton, have signed this letter suggest that they are serious about pushing back against any 11th-hour Blagojevich move.

THEY HATH SPOKEN!! BLAH-BLAH - - CAN YOU HEAR THEM NOW?? :>) :>)

Some random thoughts I was having about this holiday season, and the new president-elect.
1. My grandmother died about 4 days after Hurricane Katrina landed in New Orleans. Her heart gave out. On election night and every night since, I have day dreams about picking up the phone asking her what she thinks about that colored guy, Obama winning the presidency (FYI: I am African American, but my grandmother was almost 70 years old, so she still had a habit of saying colored or negroe, not black or African American)
2. As the song goes "Santa Clause is A Black Man"! So this time next year, will America be treated to a Black Santa Claus taking pictures at the White House. Hell the Obamas' seem like the kind of people who actually celebrate Kwanzaa. Will there be a Kwanzaa celebration in the White House.
3. I know the weeMichelles like the Jonas Brothers, but I'm sure Michelle is more downhome. Who wants to bet on if we will see anyone doing the electric slide during one of the inaugural balls (just kiddin')? I am looking forward to "Signed Sealed Delivered" though.
4. I am imagining the sentiments felt around the world if Obama is actually sworn in as "Barack Hussein Obama Jr" at the inauguration.
5. I know Obama listens to Lil Wayne and Jay Z. I'm imagining the idea that Hip Hop music will be played in the West Wing, or even in the Lincoln Bedroom. Can you imagine hearing "Dust Your Shoulder's Off" coming from the residential area of the white house?
Just random thoughts going threw my head sometimes.
What about ya'll?
Town
"Dust your shoulders off" will probably be the official White House 3 AM phone ring tone.
spirit_55z
Yes, and the ring tone will come from a cell phone, not ne of those big ass chuncky ones with the flashing red light. oooh, ooohh!
And they'll have 81 year old Eartha Kitt in the housizzle singing "Santa Baby." I'll bet Gandma Robinson would get a real kick out of that!
OT: But I saw that Ricky Martin is debuting pictures of his 5 month old twin sons who were born by surrogate.
Don't laugh, but I love me some Ricky Martin. I even paid (yes paid) to see him in concert when I was 25 (luckily I wasn't the oldest one there).
Here's the question: What SINGLE, STRAIGHT male do ya'll know who would go throught all the trouble of hiring a surrogate to have his children. Hell what SINGLE STRAIGHT male do you know who actually wants to raise children "alone". Me thinks that the issue for Ricky is the whole STRAIGHT part? What do ya'll think?
It's a non issue. He's an entertainer who does a lot of charity work and doesn't act like a fool in public. If he wants to be a daddy then by all means good for him!
WASHINGTON -- President-elect Barack Obama is entering the White House with an enormous reservoir of goodwill from an American public that is rooting for his success in the face of bad economic times, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.
The mood presents opportunities as well as perils for Mr. Obama, who confronts a series of challenges amid expectations he will handle them well.
Overall, a majority of Americans are confident in Mr. Obama's ability to govern and unify the country, with many who didn't vote for him now seeing him in a positive light. The poll found that 73% of adults approve of the way he is handling the transition and his preparations for becoming president.
Senate Republicans are considering asking Bill Clinton to testify at his wife’s confirmation hearing about potential conflicts of interest involving his worldwide charitable enterprises.
“There are concerns about his international work across the board,” a Republican aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Politico. “Seeking donations from foreign governments is definitely concerning. ... It has been discussed, and it will be discussed.”
While spouses frequently attend nominees’ confirmation hearings, they are usually there for moral support and window dressing — a sympathetic face in the row of seats behind the witness table.
Indeed, it’s unusual to have anyone aside from the nominee testify at a confirmation hearing.
But there’s nothing usual about Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton, and some Senate Republicans may relish the thought of putting Washington’s ultimate power couple though the wringer before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee next month.

I am so with you on this. In the end it is the working people that will get screwed. And the truth is that the greed in their upper ranks has been forced to give their workers livable wages and work environments. However of the people that work at the plants are the only ones covered in this great deal (the Union, not the bailout.)
For me the issue is scrap the whole company and build a new one, a better one, one that helps a lot more people in perhaps different ways or try to change what is broken in the car corp "system." I know so many people who hurt, but part of me is thinking it is for the greater good and the long term good of working people.
I thinks it s harder to make change than to start fresh. Am I totally off base here?
Why is Essence magazine pissing me off again? I swear....they have a pictorial of Carmelo and LaLa's home in Denver and pics with their lil one who is just too precious......but these two have been together how long and Carmelo hasn't put a ring on it? Its totally their business...but damn Essence!! Geez....
SDG
I gave up on that mag when Susan Taylor left. Diddy & Kim Porter, Mariah as "The Most Misundersttod Black Woman In America" and now Carmello and LaLa? Done I tell you. Done!
Essence magazine constantly reinforces foolishness. Of all the relationships to feature they choose yet another unmarried couple with illegitimate children and a cheater with money. Wow this is what a young girl is supposed to aspire to when she grows up?
JJai
technically, he did put a ring on it =-)
Miranda
Oh that's right...they're engaged....yes?
JJai
yeah.
Beyonce's new remixes should be "Say the Vows", "Sign the Marriage Certificate" and 'File it with the Court" in other words she need to be more specific.
Or she could just go with "Set a Date"
Miranda
LMAO!!!!!! Who among us doesn't have a "aunt" or know somebody with an "aunt" that they just started calling that because she been with unk so long...why not? LOL
Don't get me wrong, but doesn't it APPEAR at all that Jesse Jackson SENIOR might have been wheeling and dealing with Blago? Excuse me if I seem to have my tinfoil hat on, but this is something underhand that Daddy might have done...not to say that JJJr. isn't capable of such shenanigans...
What do Chicagoans think about that one...?
rikyrah
where's the money coming from....that was the only reason I didn't think it was Jr. I knew Emil Jones had the money.
I'm a Chicagoan but it's not relevant to this particular question. In the complaint from the US Atty, Blagojevich is taped stating this narrative about Candidate #5. As far as we know, there is not a taped conversation of any interaction. So, much of the information will come from the interviews of all these folks in the ensuing investigation.
I think that JJJ's statements should be taken as truthful. And, he will be telling his story to the Feds very soon. But it is very clear that he cannot be appointed to this seat. And, if he chooses to run if there is a special election, I do not see how he can win this seat at this time.
rorysmomma
I thought the same thing..... Sounds just like his ass. JJJ should have his old ass declared incompetent.
whiterosebuddy
I ain't from ChiTown but I do know that when I read emissary I thought JJ Sr!! Then I recognized that JJSR is so OL school that he would NEVEr be caught on tape asking for anything..and so JJJ is benefitting from the wisdom of his. I suspect the tape wilk show that some folks lesser than JJ Sr and JJJ were the ones who made the pitch and that JJJ only showed up to do what is standard protocol as the SEAL: for the deal.
spirit_55z
whiterosebuddy I don't know about JJSR. He may be old school, but he did get caught on a hot mic threatening to "cut Barack nuts" And on faux news of all places. He wasn't aware the mic was hot.
I watched him on election night, tears streaming down his face, He appeared, tired, beaten, sad, I dunno, I just have a sense he wished he's risen to the level of Barack. So, I can see him having a helping hand with getting JJJ that senate seat.
President-elect Barack Obama has settled on Nobel Prize winning physicist Steven Chu as secretary of energy, a key post in the broad energy and environmental cluster that is expected to be announced next week, according to Democratic sources.
Former Clinton Environmental Protection Agency administrator Carol Browner is Obama’s choice to oversee a new White House post on climate and the environment, the sources said. And Lisa Jackson, the former commissioner of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection, will head the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Additionally, Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Nancy Sutley will lead the Obama White House’s Council on Environmental Quality. She was a member of New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender presidential steering committee.
Scott Segal, director of the Electric Reliability Coordinating Council, a wide-ranging group of power companies that work on clean air issues, said Obama’s choices represent a diversity of ideas that would likely be good for both business and environmentalists.
“I believe the group they’ve assembled is intellectually curious enough to know what industry thinks and explore what the real world impacts will be from climate legislation,” Segal said. “Given the range of possibilities that had been discussed…[the candidates] strike me as pragmatic choices.”

I agree! Malia's a doll!
Kat
No kidding. Beautiful, and at 10 years old comes up to the shoulder of her 6 ft parents.
whiterosebuddy
I KNOW!
I think this is a point missed by many. The only reason Sasha and Malia look like kids is because they are standing by their Amazon parents!!
Those girls are VERY tall. Sasha is up to her moms breasts, and Michelle is SIX feet tall and Malia is up to her dad's shoulder which means she has to be at least 5'10 at TEN!!
I can't imagine how hard it is for Michelle to find dresses for them!...but now she will have the aide of the worlds top designers...
LOVIN IT!!
Sagittarius
Malia and Sasha are pretty little girls, which is not surprising. Shoot - look at their parents!
