Man after the election, one of the pundits said that the ones Obama has to watch out for are the members of his own party. I took it as just campaign rhetoric, but damned if they weren't right. God help me I think it was Pat Buchanan.

I don't think Etheridge is saying to get over the pick. I think she's suggesting an alternate form of direct action. Kumbaya moment, this isn't.

In an earlier post, I linked a Daily Kos article that also showed that Warren has taken down the gay-hating stuff off his church website. This, from a church that once said explicitly that gay parishioners weren't welcome.

Frank and Etheridge have a right to be angry. I have to add that this episode comes on the heels of the Prop 8 loss, so it feels like a double whammy of dismissal, especially with a PE whose campaign focused on inclusiveness.

There is always going to be one category of gay people who want to be married; there is always going to be another category of gay people who are going to eff around. Just like straights.

This ain't over yet, of course.

The church did not say explicity they did not want gay parishoners EVER. They are welcome to worship as prarishoners. What they explicitly said was that homosexuals could not be members because they did not want to follow the Christian tenets and repent.

No homosexual who is unwillling to follow Christian tenets should be upset about that. In fact, the question should be why would they want to be a member of a christian community that they refuse to follow the tenets of.

Gay hypocrisy is just riDICUlous.

Why not rejoice in knowing that the church respects their choice and does so by saying continue to live in sin, which means you have no need of membership in a christian community.

Instead of acting like the church rejected them when the truth is they reject the tenets of the Christian church to repent their sins.

One of the tenets of The Salvation Army is that their officers have to marry other officers. Anyone who doesn't has to leave The Army.

This happened just recently. The poor guy, who had been in the group his entire life, was devastated to have to resign, but he loved this woman who was Christian, but not an Army officer.

I feel sorry for anyone--straight or gay--who decides to get into a church with either of you paragons.

Sex is not who anyone IS. Sex is what individuals DO.

Every single thing the christian faith 'discriminates' against is a conduct/ behavior. Got that? All human beings who engage in behaviors that are not upheld by the christian faith are 'discriminated' against for what they DO. NOT who they ARE. Whether you black green orange, gay, straight or BI, it is your CONDUCT and ACTIONS that are designated as SINS.

Not the individual. Which is why the Christian tenets stress. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Every single commandment is about an ACTION a specific CONDUCT that is prohibited under the Christian faith and deemed a sin. Stealing, adultery, murder, etc these are all CONDUCT/behaviors

There are consequences for sinful BEHAVIOR. Which is why the individual needs to repent and cease sinning or engaging in behaviors & ways that are sinful.

Being gay is about what you do it is not who the individual is. Cause we all know folks stop being hetero and become gay right? Then there are the gays who quit being gay and become hetero, usually they just make it to bi though right?

Now NONE of those changes could occur if being gay was who you are and not what you DO.

I already said Obama better get some NOI brothas security clearances, because most SS would have been fired for this type of performance in protecting the POTUS...and that has been the reason why no POTUS since Jack Kennedy has caught a bullet; although Reagan came close, but lived to forget about it (alzheimer's and all that).

Hell no! After lusting after PEO, I started to wonder where the hell was the Secret Service? That hidden camera could have easily been a rifle. Within a week, there has been lax response from the Secret Service, first with Bush in Iraq and now this.

secondly, with all the death threats O has received, that camera could have been something else. maybe the ss need to tell the family to stay in the pool area of their rented home. but hey, this was the ss call, i do think they investigate all places of vacation before the family leaves on one. this is what happens when you become POTUS, all your privacy is taken away and security will become part of your life.

they need to get a security private beach house with the private beaches attached on the big Island of Hawaii, or some other island in Hawaii, because Oahu is tourist area and hardly anything's private - not even McGarrett's old offices in the Iolani Palace.

We used to eat fried spam and a fried egg w/ melted cheese slice on toast or a toasted bagel. It was yummy. Spam straight from the can is just nasty, even though it's already cooked, that's still nasty.
