It's cool. Barack's just parking her there until a Supreme Court space opens up and swallows her political ambitions forever. Then Susan Rice becomes Secretary of State (which is why she will report directly to Obama from the Cabinet-level UN Ambassadorship)

I'm really not getting the Clinton aversion that I'm seeing on this and other blogs (I mean, they clearly have their issues, but I don't see Obama picking Hilary as the end of the world or the end of his administration). Can someone explain it to me, please?

Right now, I still fall on the “keep your enemies” close side of the debate. I think (well, I hope) the role gives the Clintons a vested interest in making Obama's presidency work.

Still, given the way he has played the game up to this point, I think Obama deserves the benefit of the doubt on his picks.

Omigod… Hillary sounds like she's the President Elect! She may spend the next 4 years giving “president-type” speeches.
I hope Obama hasn't made a big mistake in nominating Hillary…
But even if Hillary stayed in the Senate, she's still make crazy speeches, souding as if she's the President. So maybe Obama is making the best out of a bad situation.
She is really something, isn't she?
