Reigion and State are to be separate. But, State is not o tell Religion what to believe. Religion can and should be invoved with State. A private letter is where separation of religion and state comes from. It simply says that the government will not interer with the Church.

By your stated opinions, Rev Wright's church should loose its tax exempt status. Clearly in his sermons and by his public statements that church is deeply involved with political statements. In fact, if his statements had been made by a Klan member that person would be in prison for hate crimes. When he says Black substitute White and when he says White substitute Black.

As a white , male, Christian, I really think about conservative blacks who are trying to right the Afro-American family; that it might include a male father and a female mother and an extended family of grandparents rearing their children to take their place as responsible citizens contributing to this great experiment called America. Such people as Bill Cosby; a stand-up comedian, educated (M.Ed), and speaking out for these foundations to ground black families. I pray there are countless others – such people as Ward Connerly (in a recent Pat Boone blog (http://www.wnd.com) , raised by his grandparents, working through school to the position of U of C. Regents. What a model and mentor for young blacks! These people voted for traditional marriage, pro-life while (IMHO) desperately looking for a pro American, pro-life, pro-marriage Afro-American. Had one been nominated, I would have voted for him!! (versus the RINO McCain) despite Palin. It's a major smoke screen (racism) hiding the real issues enumerated above. As with Affirmative Action, the candidate is demeaned and devalued leaving his detractors to say “it was given to him” rather than to say ” he earned it!!” I find this appropriate because values/character/ belief system trump deeds (though the latter reveals the former). Sadly, few checked out the latter of “the One” to ascertain the former! Dave.

You're quite right – talking to each person with a car parked where it shouldn't be would be proper and Christian. Name calling proves only that the caller lacks either the vocabulary or the mental acumen to debate the issue. It behooves us as Christians to think through our response to the issues of the day and to make sure these responses correspond and reflect God's thinking on the subject. Often our response might best be one of silence – pray to an Almighty Sovereign God for direction, to respond in love and in truth, and finally to confront realizing that only God can effect change in the other person. Having said this, getting involved is requisite! We are called to “turn the world right side up” (not upside down). Once knowing what's right, we are to persevere in pressing the right (Check out W. Wilberforce and his life-long struggle to outlaw slavery around the globe – and the fact that trafficking in humans continues today not just of the body but of the mind and spirit!! Dave.

For those of you who harp on the love of God, remember if you truly love God, you must recognize that there are things that God hates (horrors!) He hates PRIDE, arrogance, the self-willed (“the Fool has said in his heart, No God!!). God also hates those who shed innocent blood (abortion), He died to defeat death, loving life (I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by me). He died to save us all – those who reject him remain in their sins. (Do you have to teach a child to be selfish, disobedient, foolish?) Oh yes, that 'book' also says, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. Ironically, this phrase isn't in the Constitution, was spoken to the Danbury Baptists by T. Jefferson to “keep the government out of the church” – not to root God out of government, and,. in fact, we find all sorts of religion in our government, the latest – Islam! Check out the US Treasury inculcating Shariah Financing 101 and 201 into our government. Want to know our future?? Just check out what's currently happening in Great Brittan! Shariah Law now rules in some of the domestic courts in England – people are screaming and crying but to no avail!! Dave.

Try reading the Koran! This 7th Century document governs 21st Century Islam and in multiple places it calls for the faithful to do away with all Jews and infidels (that's you if you're not Muslim – and agnostic, atheistic don't cut it, you're a member of the Great White Devil). Want to hear something better? Try reading from that despised book, the Bible. It says, “love those who hate you, do good to those who desptflully use you”. Is this possible? Not unless you're indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Check out Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand to find hardened Communists converted by suffering, dying Christians, tortured for their belief in the hated Christ. Those who hailed him the beginning of the week, crucified him at the end of the week!! He took on him our sin that we might have his righteousness – we stand in him righteous before his father. For those rejecting this plain word; don't forget to read the fine print of the system you subscribe to. Dave.

The Christian must recognize that his is a matter of relationship. not of religion. When one is “born again” they become “in Christ”; born of water and from above. Positionally, the Christian is in Christ, Christ prays to God the Father in John 17 that he and his father and those related via the Holy Spirit be One! As I remain a Fouser regardless of my behavior, I remain a Christian through no work of my own! Salvation is by Christ alone from before the foundation of the world. What I do as a Christian is OUT OF my salvation; not a means of being saved!! 1 John tells us not to sin; if we do sin we have an advocate with the Father even Jesus Christ the Son who ever makes intercession for us. The closer we are to Christ, the more we see the natural sinfulness we possess as did Paul (of whom I am chief). We are called to “love our enemies” , to pray for those in authority over us including the president elect!!. Our sovereign God is well able to turn the hearts of the kings/presidents as he turns the courses of rivers. Why? That we may live peaceable lives – this written under the Roman government. He worked than and He hasn't changed – He's immutable (despite WJC's pronouncement that he and his generation was “changing the immutable”). Dave.

This is why the Bible tells us to be “Berean believers” checking with our ultimate authority whether these things are true. The Bible tells us “let everyman be considered a liar but the Bible, God's Word be true.” The issue is not separation of church and state – it's which church will be in the state! Secular Humanism is a religion as is evolution; both require great amounts of faith, are systematized codes of belief, and parading under “Science”, drive much or our thinking. We will be followers of some “religion” worshiping either ourselves or some god. These days will shake out professors from possessors – only the one True God can give a joy that passes all understanding. Check out the Chinese Christians; those underground and not “the registered churches masquerading as the Chinese Church”! It behooves all American Christians to “get their house in order” according to the Word of God. Purchase a Bible, read,repent, order your life as dictated by this Word and not as some “Preacher” dictates! You shall find him when you search for him with all your heart; his yoke is easy and his burden is light and you shall find rest for your souls! Dave.
