Thanks Jack. This is such a good feeling! I find myself smiling alot just thinking of the next four years and the possibilities. My friends in Germany stayed up until 6 a.m. to watch the returns. They are so happy about this.

It has been a truly amazing ride the past few days. I have had tears on top of tears. The tour through my memories of my short lived life in a country town and the thoughts of my deceased grandmother and all the others before her, have made this indescribable. I can understand and relate to this article completely but I know the crowning moment will be January 20, 2009 when President-Elect Obama become President Obama.

I am still processing this all….But I am especially proud that Obama won with a resounding victory, no razor-thin margin in this historic win.

I am a person that enjoys reaching out to all people, regardless of their views, background, etc…but this time in history makes me hunger for more outreach and unity than ever before…..that is what helped us arrive at this point.

That is exactly why I cannot have a serious conversation (yet) about what this election means to me unless I am in my house or in my car on the way home. I had to cut off the radio yesterday morning because I started to get all misty in the damn car!!

This morning as I drove to work I listened to Air America. Every caller for a stretch was from some other land, some ex pats some foreigners. They all called and were over joyed at the news. A man from Honduras who learned to speak English better from Air America, calling in relating how his people have been starved by past policies. A woman in Mexico who blurted out that she had been in Chicago in 68 crying that she didn't know she carried pain from that time. Pain that lifted last night. Armenia, Belgium, England, Ireland.... called.

I was crying myself as I walked through the door to my client's office. She got up so concerned by my tears. I said they were tears of joy, Obama got elected. She grabbed me and we hugged and jumped, like little girls, around the office. Like those people outside the White House last night.

She is a red headed Scot who tried last night to explain to her eleven year old why this was so important. I said the fact that he won't ever think it so singular for a black man or woman to succeed so highly is the important fact. This white boy will never understand or accept limits on anyone else in this country.

That is great!

I am crying again too and at this moment, my happiness is especially for all of you. I am so happy for America and for my beautiful black daughter to have Obamas in the White House. What a future.

If I am this proud now I can't imagine how I'd feel if I actually WAS black myself! ;)
