I also posted this to YouTube. Anjali and I voted at the same time. She lives in my building, and we’ve been neighbors for 14 months but never met until Election Day 2008. Here is a post-vote interview from the Dyckman Street subway in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan.

After the interview, I threw in some photos I and my boy Sozi Tulante (of West Philly) took at the DNC.

Are yall my neighbors in Inwood?!?! The energy up here the past few days has been great! Folks are asking “are ya voting?” “did ya vote” “what time ya going to vote?” I was the second person in line at P.S 51 and the first person to cast a ballot in the 81st Precinct and I have been gliding along ever since. The song of the day for me has been Sweet Honey in the Rock's “Ella Song”: We who believe in freedom cannot rest. Today is only the beginning!
