When me and my girlfriend first moved in together, I had this weird experience. It barely registered for me at first, but it appeared that I had developed an endless supply of clean underwear and thus did not get my usual signal to do laundry.

I went for a while with this subconscious feeling that some underwear miracle was happening that I was benefitting from. Finally, I realized that this was probably not the case. Turns out my girlfriend couldn't stand to do laundry without checking to see if I had underwear in my basket that needed washing, then putting them neatly in my drawer. Without mentioning it to me.

(And, I wonder if it is obvious that I am an Aquarius)

I think he's scheduling it for the inauguration, but drop him a line and let him know he's not off the hook for it.

He's supposed to provide YouTube clips of his run down Broad Street, because I told him I could catch Amtrak and be in Philly within 45 minutes to see him keep his promise. ROFL

Rev. Frederick Haynes of Friendship Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, but George Curry reported last summer that it was the other way around, and Rev. Haynes himself reported that he was hamstrung in the selection process, and that the selection process was set up to favor Ben Jealous' selection.

Word on the street was that Jealous was Julian's boy – and half of the 65 member board felt the same way.

rorysmomma, my “first love” was a Scorpio, but based on what you're saying here, seems to me in retrospect that that person didn't actually love me back :) It's ok, I was very young (15) and inexperienced in the matters of romance at the time… no hard feelings about it at all. But it did leave me with a bad taste re: Scorpios that has apparently persisted for decades

President-elect Obama said it very well on 60 minutes, IMO:

Kroft: When the price of oil was at $147 a barrel, there were a lot of spirited and profitable discussions that were held on energy independence. Now you've got the price of oil under $60.

Mr. Obama: Right.

Kroft: Does doing something about energy is it less important now than…

Mr. Obama: It's more important. It may be a little harder politically, but it's more important.

Kroft: Why?

Mr. Obama: Well, because this has been our pattern. We go from shock to trance. You know, oil prices go up, gas prices at the pump go up, everybody goes into a flurry of activity. And then the prices go back down and suddenly we act like it's not important, and we start, you know filling up our SUVs again.

And, as a consequence, we never make any progress. It’s part of the addiction, all right. That has to be broken. Now is the time to break it.
