Regarding Barack's press conference that just ended, I have a question, Has Bush abdicated the presidency? Just because his approval rating is low doesn't mean he can just throw all of the problems that he has created over to Obama. I really resent this.

I loved, LOVED! , when Ohio got called and the Fox reporter was all "ummmmm"

LOLZ! Classic! The Republican Party and Rove got owned.

I cried my eyes out when Obama won. I was all prepared to wait all night for the results and bam! MSNBC called it. Keith O was holding back tears. Just wonderful.

My favorite part was when the music Signed Sealed Delivered started playing and the crowed started singing.

When Fox news is slamming Republicans… you know its bad. But to be honest, the big business, rich Republicans are trying to destroy her reputation now that the race is over. They saw how popular she was with the base, but they don't want her to ever come back and be a real force in the party. The Republicans just use people like Sarah Palin and Joe the plumber for votes, but they don't like them. John McCain wouldn't even look Joe the plumber in the eye if Joe had to come and work on one of McCain 8 houses. The real Republicans look down their noses at people like Joe and Sarah Palin. Then the GOP makes promises they know they won't keep. Roe vs Wade will NEVER be overturned and they know it… but they bring it out every year to get the evangelicals in the base fired up. The Republicans claim they support small towns but Rush Limpballs and everyone at Fox news live in mansions in NY and LA. That's why Huckabee never had a chance even though he won Iowa. The rich upper crust republicans (who run the party and Fox News) would never associate with a “hillbilly” like Mike Huckabee… But they'll use his voters to get elected. The GOP is the party of the RICH and Sarah is about to go on a long ride into oblivion. I feel sorry for the way they used her and now slam her now that they lost. I still don't like her, but she was in waaaay over her head and didn't see the change-up coming.

After searching two days for words that can describe what the Election meant to me, I had to go back to 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall. In fact, it actually felt like we just overthrew a dictatorship. I think Wednesday morning was the first time I've been able to breath in about eight years. The trauma of the last eight years are about to over! My hopes and prayers is that Barack can deliver….We need that. As for now, knowing that bush/Cheney are out office is sufficient enough for me.

p.s-) By the way, I'm also glad that we dodged that McCain-Palin bullet. Boy, it'd have been off to Sweden for me.

I think the full impact and significance of Barack's ascension to power will hit African Americans at different points and at different times. It was early on for me when I could first realize the possiblity and all that our people have gone through. I think there will be other times though, maybe as Donna Brazile says when he walks down those steps to take the oath or maybe one day on a news clip when his standing in a tuxedo for a state dinner with dignitaries. There will be many times that chills will go through our bodies at the site of something we never thought we would see and for many the emotion will overcome us and for others it'll just be muming under our breaths the words “unbelievable'. But the next four years will be good for the souls of black folk. And for those of us truly committed to going the distance with Barack in the good and bad times, we'll make our way to the 'tv to support him as we will this afternoon for the press conference. Unless he really does something to disappoint, he will have the unfaltering loyalty of African Americans throughout this whole ride. This is a once in a lifetime chance for most of us to take this journey. Now it will be nice if others come after this trail he blazed, but I do believe we will follow him as though its our one and only shot. He will be appreciative.

I attempted to start a regular blog once, but I soon felt obligated to put posts on it without necessarily being inspired to write. I majored in communication studies, and I know it's in my system, at least at an amateur level–I love posting here and cruising other message boards. And I was on a bit of a mental high after I had a letter to the editor published. I think I will try it again down the road.
