To say this video moves me would be an understatement. This family is so great I could only wish I could replicate. Right around the 6:30 mark you can see Malia stops her dad to tell him that there's a little girl crying. He immediately pivots back to the spot to chat to her while Michelle picks her up to comfort her. Right after this, the little boys and girls tugging at his jacket, looking like they're hanging on for dear life, that is too too precious. To have a president who is REAL and connects with the people and is unafraid to show how he feels is truly amazing….but maybe not. It just might be that we're so accustomed to pretentious ones in the past that one whom we can identify with comes along we just don't believe our eyes.

Thank you for sharing this. I watched and listened as tears ran down my face. The knowledge that children of color can dream big and can become the President of the US, is overwhelming for me.

Their chanting “Obama” at the end …………………………… priceless.

Totally agree. Also love the voices of authority in the teachers and principal. Remember that so well as a little kid, and in my years as a preschool teacher. This moment was very real, and spontaneous, something that Presidents have been scared of for ages. I was moved too.

This is one of the most inspiring videos I have ever seen. The expression on the faces of those children were rare examples of spontaneous adulation. It's rare, because few political leaders are capable of inspiring such feelings — especially among easily distracrted children. It was a moment that will be planted in their memories, maybe later to blossom as yet another flower of black achievement.

I admire president Obama's charm and power of giving powerful motivational speeches. I first saw him give a public speech at the opening of a holistic rehab where he spoke about the power to overcome obstacles and to start over when you think you've hit rock bottom. This one is also a great speech.
