I missed it as I was enroute home from Seattle. I can't even begin to tell you the excitement, enthusiasm, energy and emotion that was in the air there. Buses had to be rerouted because people were dancing in the streets.

I am so proud of Obama, but more than anything I'm proud of all of you. Yes we can and yes we did. I've been following this long campaign process for a year and the emotions behind it were oftentimes intense, but as passionate as I was about things, the full impact of what was happening did not hit, until I sat in that restaurant, surrounded by Seattle's finest and witnessed history. A roar of cheers erupted as they projected Obama the President Elect ... my children were with me and as I looked over, I burst into tears. I just wailed. Something I promised I would not do in public.

My son cheered, Barack Obama won! And then later he said "and I"m going to be President too!"

Thank you JJP for posting the transcript of the speech.
