Please Call the Governor of Virginia

Just got a message asking for help:

Because of all the massive voting reports of problems in Virginia, we need the polls to stay open an extra two hours. Only the Court has the power to keep the polls open longer. The Governor and the State Board of Elections should be asking the court to do this.

Please call the Governor’s office now at (804) 786-2211 to request this.

I called. They said they are getting a lot of calls and are passing the word along. But it wouldn't hurt for them to get a lot more calls. My sister lives in VA. I'm going to call her to see if she had problems.

I just called, and was told the message would be passed along. I was told that anyone who is standing in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote no matter how long it takes. Exact words were “if it takes until 5pm tomorrow” … of course, with no apparent provisions for voter comfort. I wish I weren't in California, as I would surely be there with coffee for those who appear to damned to spending the night in line.

Just called and received the same response about anyone in line at 7:00 pm. Also was told that disabled ppl.and elderly ppl.will be offered curbside ballots.

I just called, the young woman who answered was very pleasant and did also say she would pass the suggestion along.
