I have been asking about this on various blogs but no one knew what I was taking about. This is the initial issue that brought me into the Obama camp. He had a whole write up about it. I had it downloaded on my other laptop. I will find it and see if I can link to it somehow.

He also speaks about inner cities.

I have been waiting to see if he was going to go through with this because it sounded so good. As an urbanite, this is great.

I wish we had decent pubtran in Houston, but we don't. Our gas is $1.79 a gal today though, so it isn't as painful here as in Philly.

That was the great thing about the price of gas going up so high, people were carpooling more or riding public transportation. Helping the environment and relieving traffic congestion all at once.

I'm so glad to read Obama is planning on addressing issues in urban parts of the country. He is right, we do need to stop seeing cities as problems and start working on solutions.

That idea can be applied to all of America's concerns. We know the problems now how do we solve them?

Thank GOD! As a born and raised Chicagoan who now lives in NYC, I am tired of listening to presidents who wouldn't know a city if one bit them in the backside! Cities are what's up–lower carbon footprint, more diverse populations, and the revenue-producing parts of every state. Props to My President!

It is unfortunate that gas still isn't $3.50/g. In Philadelphia ridership went up so fast they were actually running operating surpluses on a monthly basis and began planning to buy more buses, subway cars and trolleys. You may have heard about the ridership problem when the Phillies won the World Series which was they had 350,000 people extra(normal ridership 112,000 both ways) trying to reach the parade route. SEPTA could not borrow cars because everyone else needed them for their own increased ridership.
When the economy returns to normal ridership is going to skyrocket. Obama realizes this. He realizes that suburban sprawl is over. It is nice to have a McMansion but when gas prices rocket that 100m drive is not affordable people are goign to want to travel to work that is reasonably close physically and timewise.
Investment tip and watch out Balck people all those large homes you own are going to become very valuable when people realize they do not have the time to travel 90 minutes each way.

This was in Minneapolis (the “victim” was from Alaska)…but she was on the campus of Augsburg College – a Evangelical Lutheran college – and walking to her dorm room when 4 huge violent menacing knee-grows appeared as if beasts of the night, to attack her – over her McCain-Palin button……………I believe this is directly lifted from an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I would think all the black people would be gathered up watching the TV and the election returns instead of roaming around campus beating up McCain Palin supporters.

Also, since there aren't that many black people in Alaska to begin with and I'm pretty sure there's a miniscule amount on Alaska college campuses, she should be able to point them out real quick, shouldn't she?
