The grandmother of our next President of the United States died Sunday, November 2nd. The news made its way to President Barack Obama on Monday the 3rd, right before his 21-month presidential campaign ended. Luckily, Obama had visited the grandmother he called “Toot” in his home State of Hawaii in late October. It is no doubt a very sad time for the Obama family. When a loved one dies, it is not only emotionally hard to cope with, but is can also be very hard on the financial side. tears while typing this:..that dianne reeves song always made me a lil emotional……….i lost my mother in 96 when i was just 16, i'm still lucky enough 2 have both of my grandmothers still around, and i can't picture this world or my life with out either one of em , one of my paternal grandmother's friends made the comment a couple of days ago that “my grandmother would walk a mile for her grandkids, and thats the way is should be”. yesterday while talking with the same grandmother over sunday dinner she made the comment that she had went and voted early and that the line was real long, but she did it anyway. now my maternal grandmother who i have 2 get up at 4 in the morning chitown time 2 take her 2 the polls tomorrow so that she can be an election judge at the tender age of 89 is “fired up and ready 2 go”, has a saying that carry's me through my trails or wheneva i am feeling down…whenever we come 2 her with a problem she has 6 words for us “put it in the lords hands” and thats what i would like 2 say 2 the Obama family and 2 my JJP fam who if it wasn't for this election i wouldn't have found and after this election i'm not going anywhere, before u go 2 bed and u still not feeling good about tomorrow or before u vote or when u are sitting with friends or family watching the results tomorrow nite……rikyrah,greenlady,val,town,and cpl…..”PUT IT IN THE LORDS HAND!”!!!

You are not. I lost 3 grandparents in the last 3 years and I mourned (and still mourn) GREATLY for them. I cannot imagine how I would feel if they partially raised me like they did for Barack.

She was a tremendous influence- and her hard work blesses us all.

I just heard. I am not sure why I am crying, I didn't know her. I guess like many of you I feel so connected to this family (probably thinking about lost loved ones too). I am thankful Ms. Dunham reared what will be the next POTUS.

I also prayed that she would hold on to see her grandson win. I also know she was probably in alot of pain and her body was tired. I am sure she is now at peace.

My prayers to the whole family.

What a wonderful grandson that she helped to rear; I am thankful that she lived to see this her grandchild make history and hopefully become our next POTUS
