Everything in conservativsm stems from the fact that if you are willing to work hard, you can be successful. There's plenty of everyday blacks that embody that idea (if Obama was a conservative, I'd love him). Those are the ones the GOP needs to actively recruit to reach out to other blacks…not the shucking, jiving, steppin' and fetchin' ones that make TV.

Black Republicans/conservatives need to realize that the GOP needs them a hell of a lot more than they need the GOP. They need to define themselves and their roles, not let it be done for them.
