Did you hear the latest about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin?
Of course you did! Who can forget the 1,000 interviews she has given since she and Sen. John McCain were blown away at the polls by President-elect Barack Obama?
It has been laughable to watch the woman who impersonates Tina Fey so well give more and more interviews and not be able to say anything at all.[LOL!:>)]
Yesterday, in a chat with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, she said she would be honored to serve in an Obama administration, if asked, but then went on to bring up Bill Ayers again, saying she still is bothered by his association with the president-elect.
Lady, give it up already?
Then there was the bizarre news conference today at the Republican Governors conference in Miami. She was supposed to do it herself, but then the other governors decided to make it a unity news conference and stand with her. She said it was time to move beyond the campaign, but then proceeded to talk all about the campaign.
They keep saying she's the future of the GOP, but if she's the future, this party is dead, dead, dead.
Palin should just quit talking, go back to Alaska, do her governor's job, shoot a few moose, and try to bone up on the issues of the day. RAOTFL
She needs to know that you can't charm yourself through a bunch of interviews. She's not a strong candidate and it's showing.

P.S. I can't locate any documentation, but I heard on some news report that SHE did NOT get NAMED to ONE Repug Gov. Committee! NOT 1!! LOL! :>) :>)
President-Elect Obama. First Lady Michelle! :>)

True, and 'm still trying to locate a clip from last Thursday of Joe Scarrybourough stating that Palin needs to go back to Alaska and study up. I couldn't believe what I was hearing!
Town
Why would she want to associate with Barack Obama when he pals around with terrorists? If she's implying that Barack Obama might be a terrorist because he pals around with terrorists, wouldn't she also be palling around with terrorists if she got a job with Barack Obama?

WASHINGTON - Sorry, Mr. President. Please surrender your BlackBerry.
Those are seven words President-elect Barack Obama is dreading but expecting to hear, friends and advisers say, when he takes office in 65 days.

But before he arrives at the White House, he will probably be forced to sign off. In addition to concerns about e-mail security, he faces the Presidential Records Act, which puts his correspondence in the official record and ultimately up for public review, and the threat of subpoenas. A decision has not been made on whether he could become the first e-mailing president, but aides said that seemed doubtful.
For all the perquisites and power afforded the president, the chief executive of the United States is essentially deprived by law and by culture of some of the very tools that other chief executives depend on to survive and to thrive. Mr. Obama, however, seems intent on pulling the office at least partly into the 21st century on that score; aides said he hopes to have a laptop computer on his desk in the Oval Office, making him the first American president to do so.

Say Goodbye to BlackBerry? Yes He Can, Maybe

rikyrah: Here's what stands out fo me: 1. “After the campaign for Sarah Palin,” Lilla continued, “those intellectual traditions may now be pronounced officially dead.”
Kristol said that the media has overplayed recent disagreements among conservatives about the Republican ticket and that debate is healthy as the party works out its next steps.
2. “The biggest mistake conservatives can make is to unite right way,” Kristol said.
1. It is, apparently, S-L-O-W-L-Y, but, surely dawning on people how "anti-intellectual" their "party" has been over the past 8 years. Then, with the introduction of the UN-VETTED ONE, "anti-intellectualism" [O.K., DUMB] was made CLEAR!
I thought/hoped that some of them were seeing this!! :>) Whew!
I'm hoping to find the documentation that shows that SHE was NOT appointed to ANY RGA Committees! HAH! :>)
2. Just as we are ecstatic and still reeling from our reality of the MONUMENTAL VICTORY of our President-Elect Obama, the WEAKNESS of the RGA Convention show the SHOCK that the GOP is STILL in regarding THEIR MONUMENTAL DEFEAT :>)
They are NOT ready to unite, 'cause they don't know what their "game plan" is. [Boy, I dangled that "verb." :>) :>)]
From what I've heard fom Susan Rice and read about her, she seems passionate and very astute when it comes to foreign affairs. She'll be a loyal asset to the Obama administration.

The Genius Cabinet
Why the president-elect should surround himself with brilliant—albeit prickly, semi-autistic, and egomaniacal—thinkers. By Jacob Weisberg Posted Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at 7:43 AM ET
Here's a radical suggestion: Barack Obama should pick the smartest people he can find for his Cabinet.
1. Among the intangible tasks Obama faces is vanquishing the anti-intellectualism of the past eight years, the prejudice that serious policy discussion is too effete for the Cabinet Room or the Oval Office. If he really wants to bring change to Washington, the new president should start by putting a sign in his window: No hacks.
2. Annnnnd, 2 think that sooo many people [choke] voted for and supported -
894/899; annnnnnnd, 5 colleges in 6 years; couldn't complete a coherent sentence; annnnnd, said NU-CU-LAR!!
ENOUGH!! LAW HA'MERCY!! :>) :>)

This could be old, but I just found it:
ACLU 'Concerned' After Students Told Not To Say Obama
"The American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi said Friday that it had received numerous reports from throughout the state from parents and students regarding alleged violations of students’ free speech following Tuesday’s election.
On Thursday, the Pearl Schools superintendent said that a school bus driver and a coach were disciplined for allegedly telling students not to say President-elect Barack Obama’s name."
The American Medical Association, the largest physicians' group in the United States, apologized to black doctors on Thursday for a history of racial discrimination.
The AMA said it will work to increase the ranks of minority physicians and their participation in the association.
The apology arose from the work of an independent panel of experts commissioned in 2005 to study the history of what the AMA called "the racial divide in organized medicine."

Nate, thanks for sharing this. I'm a retired nurse.
The apology arose from the work of an independent panel of experts commissioned in 2005 to study the history of what the AMA called "the racial divide in organized medicine."
"The point of the apology is to acknowledge our policies and practices in the past that discriminated against African American physicians," Dr. Ronald Davis, the AMA's immediate past president, said in a telephone interview."
This is the whole idea of womanistmusing's post. Until white folk acknowledge being white and privileged, and claiming and updholding/supporting that white privilege, they are racist. It's not about people of color it is about white privilege/entitlement at the expense and welfare of nonwhites.

I love seeing PE Obama with little girls as well. I think black boys and girls both see themselves in Obama. It's a good thing for our kids and young people.
