Sarah Palin Does TV Interview While Turkeys Are Slaughtered In The Background (Video)

Some videos you just have to see to believe. On Thursday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared in Wasilla in order to pardon a local turkey in anticipation of Thanksgiving. This proved to be a slightly absurd but ultimately unremarkable event. But what came next was positively surreal. After the pardon Palin proceeded to do an interview with a local TV station while the turkeys were being SLAUGHTERED in the background!! Seemingly oblivious to the gruesomeness going on over her shoulder, she carries on talking for over three minutes. Watch the video below to see for yourself. Be warned, it's kind of gruesome.



Sarah Palin is oblivious to just about everything! First, she pardons a Turkey, then gives an interview where Turkeys are slaughtered in the background! Can she be any more dumber? Ughhhhhhhhh!

Well I guess if he's seriously motivated to make changes and it lasts more than a few days, but the bigger question is why couldn't he have been self-motivated. Why do so many Black people choose to not believe something is possible without seeing somebody do it first?

h&fs, I think any effort made to shift our state of consciuosness is a significant step. It takes years, sometimes a lifetime to make a breakthrough in changing old ways of thinking, acting and being. That's why mentoring is such an important part of our legacy we can leave with our youth.

Somteimes we have to begin where we are. I came from a family of 13 children. I watched my mother scrub white folk floors and wash their laundry.
When she got hired at the county hospital, she scrubbed their floors too.

I loved my mother, but I just didn't like that she had to wash other folks floors. I went with her on the job and decided that when I grew up, I was going to be a nurse, and I did beome a nurse.

Me and my sibligs were fortunate in that we had parents who taught us by example, and they told us we ALWAYS had choices in life. These values were instilled in us early in life.

Jim Jones is making a choice to change, and I honor him for his choice. Will he stay with it? Who knows. It takes time to release old thougjhts and habits. Maybe he needed a new incentive besides money.

We all know that Obama's election is profound...and quite honestly, i think it will cause many people, but especially black men to reevaluate and reexamine their stature. Many younger black people all over the US (whether inner city or not) have been real cynical about leadership, power, and their own plight.

And many young black men, like some of my own cousins, often shortsight their own chances at success...they may feel it can only come by means of a music career, a sports deal, or maybe becoming a preacher to bilk the church outta money(a lot of young people are very cynical about religion due to what they see as hypocrisy in church leaders. )

And you'd be surprised at how many younger people i know in 2008 who say college is not worth it because they know a lot of people who are still unemployed with degrees (which is sadly true sometimes).

Obama has shown people there is POWER in organizing our neighborhoods and communities. And one of the most beautiful things about Obama's life is that he wasn't raised in "the hood,"--but that is where he began his journey as a public servant---helping the "forgotten folks" and went on to break the ultimate barrier in American politics. Even the most hardened, cynical, or discouraged black person has to be inspired by that----Obama's election is indeed life-changing and profound--and I am happy that Jim Jones and others are looking to CHANGE their mindset, language, and attitude.

I absolutely feel you on your point of how other black males, both adult and child, could feel an inspired response to Barack Obama's success. Here you had a biracial African-American man being elected to the biggest office in the land, based upon his earned success from working to better himself and his community. Obama, even by way of his celebrity, is proof that you can do it the smart way and the right way and succeed.

My biggest worry about what Jim Jones' reaction (and that from other entertainers, athletes, celebrities, etc.) is that those sentiments will soon die out like a fad. I'll be glad if I'm proven wrong.

Uh huh but there is something inherently wrong with a person who says they won't go to college because they know people with degrees who are unemployed. Talk about low expectations! Holding yourself to a higher standard should not be dependent on outside circumstances. That is internal weakness and should be recognized and dealt with. How do you go from having to sneak to read to just throwing away a desire to be educated - and not simply by attending class but by being curious about the world and wanting to learn?

h&f, you are so true....but there IS pervasive apathy in many parts of our country...and to be honest, more people today know the names of all the latest reality show stars but can't recite great stories like Dr. Ben Carson, Mae Jemison or Madame C.J. Walker.

In life we often need the inevitable to happen to let us know anything is possibe....I won't lie if McCain/Palin got elected, I may have moved out of this country seriously...it could have possibly sent me on the brink of hopelessness.

Many of my clients are government workers and they have been bitching for at least the last 5 years about the general incompetence at the top of their agencies from either: the heads not sticking around that long, incompetence if they did stay, or ideology getting in the way of the work being done. Believe me when I say that we aren't the only ones who think January 20 can't get here soon enough.
