I just read a Salon article about why people who don't like Hillary are haters, and they should just suck it up because she is a great choice for SoS. *blank stare*

If Jr. heads up Education, his wife can run for and probably get his Congressional seat – and that would be a first, having a CBC member's spouse actually succeed their partner in Congress. Sandi Jackson is already an elected official – she's an Alderman in Chicago and doing very well from all accounts, but this would be a good fit.

Jr. was going to challenge Daley for Mayor of Chicago a couple of years ago, which I thought was a step down. I'm glad he ran for re-election to his Congressional seat instead – plus, he wouldn't have to worry about re-election if he takes a Cabinet position.

But Obama has to offer it, first – so this is my wistful thinking going on.

Until about three weeks ago, signs in the windows of Clinton’s suburban Washington campaign headquarters advertised a moving sale and offered all kinds of office equipment for purchase, and some equipment is still listed for sale online. From the time she conceded the Democratic presidential nomination to Barack Obama through the end of October, Clinton’s campaign reaped $373,000 through nearly 400 separate “asset sales,” according to reports her campaign filed with the Federal Election Commission.

That won’t put much of a dent in her vendor debt, which stood at $7.5 million at the end of October, according to an FEC report filed Thursday night.
