Veteran Affairs- Max Cleland of GA. Diversity (Americans with Disabilites and Veteran): In 1975, Cleland was hired to work for the U.S. Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. Sec. of Education- Colin Powell or Marva Collins: Westside preparatory School was founded in 1975 in Garfield Park, a Chicago inner-city area. During the first year, Marva took in learning disabled, problem children and even one child who had been labeled by Chicago public school authorities as borderline retarded. At the end of the first year, every child scored at least five grades higher proving that the previous labels placed on these children were misguided.

FEMA Director: General Honoré: Lt. General Russel Honore was the only intelligent leader on the ground in Louisiana. FEMA should have done something about evacuating people before the hurricane.

This would be an EXCELLENT appointment. OMG, I would be an Obama-stan for life if he picked her.

Besides that, I hope Team O seeks folk possessing a comfort level with diversity IN THE EXECUTIVE RANKS . Whatever way Team O uses to interpret and balance this factor is solely up to them.

That said, I am very confident that Team O will assemble a kick-ass team of CAPABLE and DEDICATED professionals who represent the diversity of perspectives in this country.

Quite frankly, I think SoT is the most important in the short term (short term meaning the next 10 years) and Supreme Court nominees are most important in the long term.

If you've ever heard Wu speak, you'd understand what I mean by “works well with others”.

The man has a way of breaking things down to the bare-bones to where you're thinking to yourself “Yeah, that makes sense, why didn't I agree with him all along?”. And even if you still don't agree with him, his personality is one where you could work together to make as many compromises as possible; and when you can't, he his able to agree to disagree. He's a good pick all around I think…

Personally, the Fed has no Congressional Oversight and should be reorganized as a strictly Federal Agency with oversight requirements. The economy is partly in the shape its in now because of this organization with no Federal oversight requirements. They blow Congress off at will, and are not subject to any type of Congressional hearing on their operations or investigations in wrongdoing. And they have been born of executive FIAT since 1913 – which violates the Constitution – yet no one talks about that.

If Obama does two terms, he gets at least three Supreme Court picks because John Paul Stevens is almost 90, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 75, and Scalia is in his seventies as well.

Then theres the Supreme court which needs an infusion of progressive blood. Obama should think outside of the box…but being a serious constitutional scholar he probably wont. So, Charles Ogeltree would be my first selection, Tim Kain my second. Bobby Kennedy Jr would also be someone who I'd like to see on the bench. Not to many woman come to mind at the moment but I'm sure there are many.
