I still can't believe that 46% of Americans voted for Palin to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. For people like most readers of this blog who are beyond disgusted with Palin, I hope you will eat less meat, starting with Thanksgiving Week. I've been a pesca-vegetarian for more than 5 years (I eat fish and seafood, but no other meat) and watching the video, I'm glad I have nothing to do with those degenerate bird-killers in Alaska. There is SO MUCH GREAT FOOD that isn't meat… and the animals will thank you!

Yet again, my Governor, Sarah Palin has left me speechless. Today, in her home town of Wasilla, she decided to pardon a turkey. To my knowledge, this has not happened before, and I wonder if it might be the only thing left that made her feel “Presidential.”

That aside, she arrived at the turkey farm, with temperatures in the single digits in a short black skirt, and high heels. Then, she stood in the turkey shed, and read her statement.

Within the first 10 seconds I expected a lightning bolt to blow a hole in the roof of the turkey barn and strike her dead, leaving a little black pile of ashes with a pair of stylish glasses frames resting on top. Had I been there in person, they’d have seen me literally dive for cover.

“I, Governor Sarah Palin, friend to all creatures great and small…” BWAHAAAAA!

Someone at Shakesville said Palin knew exactly what she was doing and was in on the joke, and I agree. She turns and looks at the man with the turkey at about the two minute mark, and the reporter asks her about it. She says, “I think this is neat and a way to promote levity on the job [levity - while a guy is killing a turkey!]. It's a good opportunity to promote a local business [OK, that's a good comment] and do something in politics that is not so heavy-handed [right after she watched the guy forcefully gripping the struggling turkey!] and that doesn't invite criticism. Of course, we'll probably be criticized for this, too, but who cares? It's fun!”

She knew exactly what she was doing, and thought the whole thing was funny. She's thumbing her nose at those of us who were turned off by it.

This video is as good an analogy as there ever was one for the entire McCain/Palin campaign.

The press focuses in on Sarah Palin as she blathers on and on about God-knows-what. Meanwhile, McCain is being slaughtered and bled dry in the background.

America turned it's back on John McCain because the sight became just too gruesome to watch.
