Insights/Highlights from 60 Minutes interview:

This will be a fomidable challege for Barack and Michelle, to help Malia and Sasha maintain a sense of normalcy.

Appreciatng the simple pleasures, like going for a walk and now having to forgo walks now for obvious reasons, is heart rending.

Steve Kroft asked Barack the question about the dog for Malia in the same breath in how e felt about his mother-in-law movng into the White House. Barack said: I 'm not going to answer that in comparison to a dog." School him Big O !!!

Obama is brilliant. I realize he is defanging the Republican Party. He is doing this by 1) being bipartisan and putting Republicans in his cabinet. 2) He keeps referring to LIncoln and Lincoln approach to governance.

He is coopting the high idealism of the Historical Republican party. He is helping the Republican party move further to the right thus driving a wider wedge between the American electorate and the right wing idealogue.

His approach is so Zen

Ok...Obama just said that he has someone on his transition team in daily contact with Paulson. He was asked if Paulson was taking suggestions from them....he said they'd see. I wonder if this recent about face by Paulson is as a result of Obama muscle?

Big "O" is sooo good! He's not even saying Hillary's on his short list for SOS. He finds: "Lincoln is a very wise man." And so is Barack. Learn from history, and usse what works for the 21st century.

Yeah...it was really good.

Finally, they're airing it. TruthSeeker, it's more than likely Barack's influence has Paulson singing a different tune.

It is such a pleasure to see a real relationship with these two. They are so down to earth. They obviously like and love each other SO MUCH!! And you know that she asked him "Are taking the girls to school tomorrow?" You know she did...

I am not a crier, but I just can't even imagine what emotions will flow the day these folks move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There is lots to be with this country of ours, but the fact that we elected this brilliant man to be President of the United States of America and that he is married to this equally brilliant woman, with two smart, grounded daughters ... I will finally say that I am proud of this country.

Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be paying attention to see how all of this plays out, domestic policy re: cities, foreign policies re: war and international relations, etc.

But, yeah, right now I feelin' right patriotic. Never thought I would see the day...

He is the 44th President of the United States of America. My brain still explodes.

Other brain exploding moments are going to be watching him take the oath of office and seeing the first pictures of him sitting in the Oval Office.
