Hail to the CHIEF, dammit! Gives me shivers. Clearly presidential.

I'm moved to tears everytime i hear him speak no matter how hard i try not to since i'm usually at work. I'm also moved to do more. He has been going virtually non-stop for two years for all of us so the least I can do is pay closer attention to what's going on in Washington. What i find is disturbing to say the least. Congressional hearings are being held right now on the Financial Market meltdown and i honestly believe the Repubs are actively trying to send black-Americans right back to the 1950's where they could pull the strings and know for certain what reaction they will get. With the blatant mis-handling of sub-prime mortgages, they are attempting to 1) blame Freddie and Fannie 2) blame minorities and 3) destroy all programs designed to assist low-income families (and real-estate entrepreneurs) own homes. I copied a few sites you all to see for yourselves. I do encourage you continue to write and or call your congress person and maybe shoot an email to Kucinich of Ohio in his support of getting to the bottom of the whole mess.

I know you are probably a lot more knowledgable about CRA and ACORN but these two in combination were designed to help progress the social/economic conditions for all Black-Americans but if your not quite sure here's what i found.

I am not quite moved to tears, but I do feel a lump in my throat. I will probably cry (either way) on November 5th when the results are announced. This is such a big moment and (as Michelle said) I really do feel proud to be an American. I will feel much prouder if Obama wins
  • evita
He has been campaigning for two years and it looks like he NOW hitting his stride. Must be adrenaline, because I am shocked he all this in him- still.
  • Mary
It is so wonderful to hear him speak. What a lovely intelligent human being. I cannot wait for this changeover. I, too, am fired up and I'm voting today.
  • Nquest
It's what you call..... A WRAP!!!

And with the brilliance we've come to expect from our dear brother, he's brought his campaign message full unity, hope & inspiration circle..... seamlessly.
  • JunePearl
Wow. Every single time. The man does it every single time. Just when I was getting fatigue, he comes out with this speech that gets me roaring to go.

Time to get back to work.

Our focus should be in getting people to the polls. Offer to drive folk, offer to volunteer to walk with older citizens who need help getting around. Do whatever it takes to get all those people we registered to the polls!

I haven't watched the video, but by the looks of the image it's Richmond. I have SO many gripes with the way it was set up/organized and the sound was HORRID. That's Richmond for you....
  • Town
I was there but the sound system was crappy so it sounded like Obama was talking into a tin can. Glad to hear clearly what he was saying.
  • Justice58
    GreenLady,

He sure can get a person fired up! I was yelling...yes! Even went into my dance! lol
  • GreenLadyHere
    Justice58: "Virtual 'DAP'!" :>) :>)

rikyrah: PREACH! PREACHA!!! I STOOD and APPLAUDED DURING the WHOLE SPEECH!!! Whooo! Hooo!

We're FIGHTING FOR: college attendance; starting businesses; VOTING!; so you can run for the Senate and even run for the POTUS!!

    THAT'S WHAT WE'RE FIGHTING FOR!!!

    YES WE CAN!!

    FIRED UP! READY TO GO!!!
