Just FYI, our office is creating resources for citizen journalists about covering election activities, e.g. what's legal or permissible in terms of filming or documenting polling locations. (In most or all jurisdictions, there are laws to prevent voter harassment and intimidation that can also apply to citizens trying to document irregularities. In fact, documenting irregularities is often an excuse people use to intimidate voters, esp. Latinos).

There are a lot of great non-partisan organizations out there, so I think we can fill an important niche with a more partisan stance. Also, since voter suppression is typically directed at persons of color, students, military voters, and Americans living overseas — all of whom tend to strongly support Obama — combatting it has partisan overtones no matter what. Being explicitly partisan will introduce some restrictions — people who work at 501(c)3's will be much more limited in collaborating with us — but it seems to me it's worth it …
