I guess I meant the shipping, but hell if I had a Kindle I sure would.

I canceled my subscription to the local paper when I saw the dude driving in his ancient car delivering that thing. I felt really bad for the Globe and for the dude's job but seriously, I cannot support that kind of product any more. Give it to me green!

OK, this is a serious question. Is it OK to buy this book, of all books, from Amazon and have it shipped? Because I've always felt green-guilty whenever I do that, compared with going to the store and buying it. You know, the whole gas and shipping issue. Just wondering.

I'm sooooo excited by this. We are desperately in need of a truly sustainable, new economy based on REAL value and REAL economic outputs. Not BS. Not paper money.

I was walking around Seattle a week ago with some friends and we ran across a lean-to built by the CCC during the New Deal. It's still there, doing a good service for thousands of visitors every year.

Sorry to be partisan -- I know how this place likes to be politically neutral ;) -- but given the state of the Dow, I was taking a close look at one of McCain's top economic advisors, who co-wrote a book in 1999 titled, "DOW 36,000". The book argues that "everything has changed" and that stock P/E ratios should be 100:1; therefore, the DOW should be at 36,000. There were a lot of books out there saying the same thing, helping inflate the bubble that's just burst. This was part of a larger campaign to dump Social Security, etc. into the market. Just imagine what would have happened if that had succeeded.

The end of an era is when leaders drink their own Kool-Aid. McCain represents that dead-end. The Obama administration will be pragmatic and non-ideological (why some liberals dislike his economic plans).

Green energy is part of a new, pragmatic, values- and value-based future. I want to be part of it.
